Ha...last I saw of it yesterday, it was going south in double quick fashion, so it wouldn't surprise me.

It did get a bit ugly.

Yeah, it seemed to be getting pretty intense! No idea what happened to the thread, but it might be a good idea to start afresh and focus on reviews, performance-related ideas etc. Happy to answer any questions too - we're going to be filming some incredible new routines with this in the coming weeks which will be posted to the downloads area of the site.
And here's the link to the product, for anyone who missed out on the excitement of the last thread http://www.hugoshelley.com/?product=insight |

Wow, that looks awesome. Has anyone reviewed this yet? I never read the old thread so I have no idea. What was the arguing about?

It was released only recently, so there are no reviews yet as far as I'm aware. The old thread related to IP, but it's a discussion that's difficult if not impossible to have without exposing methods on an open forum, and isn't much use to anyone who's using the product. Happy for it to continue over email or PM though (if anyone is still around from the previous thread and has unanswered questions)

Hugo,
Thank you very much for your prompt and thorough reply to my questions. I look forward in getting Insight from you this week. Michael

400£ to know what card someone is thinking of ?!
Sorry but I'm gonna go and waste my money somewhere else.

If you cannot see beyond "telling someone what card they are thinking of" as the entirety of this technology perhaps you should give it some more thought and give your creativity a workout. Hugo, I think a Facebook user's group for owner's only would be a great idea. Many other creators do this and I find them very helpful. Preston |

Heres a wee review of the product as it seems no-one has covered it yet.
I picked this up in Blackpool and was first surprised at the reasonable price. I have used it at well over 20 gigs now and it has never let me down once. The cards are very slightly heavier than regular cards but basically look completely natural. You can do most things that you can with a normal deck, riffle shuffle etc. The range on the receiver is very good and you can change the speed of the vibrations when using the App. Using the app I have sometimes taped the receiver to the underside of tables, so you only need the card placed in roughly the right place for it to work with your phone. These are fairly thick tables I have been using! It has taken me a while to find personally what I will use this for. I have experimented with 5 or 6 different effects so far and have a few other ideas I have yet to try, but after a month I think I have found what works best for me. In general something has to be very good, reliable, practical and add something fresh in order for it to stay in my working set over the long term and it has passed the test so far. I think I have all of Hugo's products and I feel very strongly in my opinion that this is his best contribution yet. I tried to persuade him at Blackpool to raise the price which I am glad to see he has a little but I will suggest once again that it should be at least £1000 or only sold to Scottish Magicians with blonde hair ;-) There are a few minor downsides. The cards aren't Bicycles so lack congruence if you are using other bicycle decks. Once the box has got old and tatty you can use a regular phoenix box but must remove a few cards in order for them to all fit. Finally the on/off switch is a little fiddly so can't just be activated in the pocket. However the batteries last so long you just turn it on at the start of your gig and even if you don't use it for 3 hours, when you do it will be on and give you the reading no problem. If the concept of this deck makes your imagination run crazy as it did with me then buy it as you will find an abundance of uses. If anyone has any questions about it just ask! |

Thanks for the review!
I thought I'd measure the deck so people could get an idea of the overall thickness. Total height is 16.8mm (no advertising cards), vs 16.5mm for the non-chipped deck I have here (including advertising cards). Our card box has a little bit more height than a regular box, allowing you to place extras like blanks, ESP cards etc in there as well. You should be able to fit the chipped deck into a regular box though - though not if you include any extras l. It's a fairly snug fit, and removing a card (or two) as Neb suggests allows them to slide out into your hand when you tilt it. |

I came across this today and have had my finger on the 'buy' button all morning - the possibilities this can open up seems amazing. I had a couple questions about this though before purchasing (I have sent you a PM Hugo), but am certainly keeping the money aside for this simply because of the many possibilities this opens up on the way it can be used to enhance a lot of the card effects that I do.
Thanks for the review as well Neb. |

How much does the app cost? Assuming it's extra? Do you actually require the app or just the receiver?

Actually, the app is $21.00 as of yesterday in the App Store, not that that dissuaded me in the least.

Apologies for the late reply here - yes, the receiver will work in standalone mode with built-in vibrations. The app costs £15 ($21) which allows the software development to fund itself - there will be updates coming out in the near future including Apple watch compatibility.
As far as updates to the main system go, we'll be offering spare full decks as of next week, as well as single cards. |

Totally. But not to say that they can’t be transformed into something incredible by those who know what they’re doing!
On that note we’ll be putting together a couple of demo videos in the coming months. Some really exciting ideas and routines to share. “To stimulate creativity one must develop childlike inclination for play” - Albert Einstein |
