I am in the process of putting together a brochure/insert that includes about 5 or 6 easy magic tricks to do with a magic wand to include with magic wands.
Need to find out which tricks should I include, where to get ilustrations and instructions for each of this tricks. Can you help ? Thanks in advanced. |

The most common "instant author" source for magic wand artwork / instructions is by Eddy Wade, and is available here:

A magic wand is a stick. While there are gimmicked wands that you can use to perform effects, floating wand, coin snatcher wand, ITR wand etc, the best use for a wand is misdirection. If you look on you tube you can find the professor, Dia Vernon, using a wand with his cups and balls routine. He is and was the master of the mis-directing wand. (among other things)
I guess you could include the solid stick that bends, more of an illusion than a trick, but you can do it with almost anything.
Magic is like Science,
Both are fun if you do it right! |

Here's are some more sources (some are finished products, some are just artwork):
http://www.custommagickits.com/custom-ma......0-pieces http://www.custommagickits.com/custom-ma......-100-pcs http://www.prestomagicproducts.com/jumpingwandreselllicense/ Some of the above are for regular plastic wands, and some are for the jumping / rising wand. I also know that Silly Scott from the UK sells wand instruction artwork, but I don't have a link. And I know that someone in Barry Mitchell's Facebook Group has shared a file of wand instruction artwork with members of the group at one time. - Donald P.S. I use the Eddy Wade Artwork (which I then had customized by my graphic designer), and shared a photo of my product on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=......c7df7d62

Thanks for the info but I was looking for information on the tricks and artwork where I could find them online for me to use and modify.
Not buying it already made Maybe free cliparts and instructions. I seen many other magicians that use this exact products that are already made and the only changes they made is their information but the rest is the same. This is why I was looking for the instructions of the tricks, and artwork for me to create my own and make it look completely different than the rest from all of this. |

Donald: After looking at your photo product on your facebook link that you provided that is exactly what I am looking for.
Where did you got those instructions and artwork from ? |

Again, I used the Eddy Wade artwork as the starting point, which I then had highly customized by my own graphic designer.
My graphic designer tweaked and changed fonts, illustrations, some of the wording, etc. I suggested some changes, and he suggested some changes. I used the Eddy Wade artwork "as is" for many years, with just my contact info inserted into the artwork before printing. Printed in black ink on yellow card stock. Then later on I went with a more customized version, with more changes. Printed in full colour on glossy card stock (although it somewhat looks like spot colour on yellow card stock, it isn't). I provided the link to the Eddy Wade artwork earlier. He owns the Magic Methods business. - Donald

I have made thousands of dollars from selling my line of show souvenirs (BOR at select magic shows, and upselling them at some other shows) over the years, so I think the investment of $40 in some artwork is tiny compared to the return.
Just a week ago, I did an event where they sold $960 worth of my show souvenirs. I provided a special souvenir for the children, and I made some extra money besides my show fee. And I also gave some of the earnings to the customer for handling the souvenir sales table for me. Win, win, win! Learning to do this the right way was a process, and didn't happen instantly. - Donald

I created my own activity book from several different sources (bought Ed Harris teach-a-trick artwork licenses when they were available, a couple of items from Hal Diamond's book "Promotion in Motion" like the tricky bunny connect the dots, etc.), and there are some things in it that are unique to me (comic strips I drew, personalized word search, board game I created, etc.) Parts were accumulated over time, as I saw something I liked. Again, I only use artwork that I've paid for, or have permission to use.
On another project (not shown), I used parts of Dean Hankey's Abra-kid-abra artwork license. http://abrakidabrasuccess.com/ (Maybe Dean will chime in with a current link.) I purchase the boxes for my magic kit from a local box company (Great Little Box Company). But I'm sure that some other entertainers buy theirs online. - Donald P.S. "Promotion in Motion" is out of print, but I think that some of Hal's artwork might be in "Birthday Party Business", which you can still find at some magic dealers.

If is a book, this book ?
http://www.amazon.com/Birthday-Party-Bus......business If it is, seems not to be any artwork in it to use. |

Yes, "Birthday Party Business" is a book.
Here's one link (non-affiliate): http://www.amazon.com/The-Birthday-Party......41599272 I don't own the book, so I don't know for sure what artwork is in it. But I've heard that it has some artwork in it, for owners of the book to use in their own promotional products / advertising. It says this right on the back cover. And I've heard others comment about that in various posts on the Café over the years. Remember that the "Look Inside" feature on the Amazon website doesn't let you look at every page. - Donald P.S. Here's a link to "Promotion In Motion" on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Promotion-motion-H......6&sr=1-9 Like I said, it might be harder to find because it's out of print. I'm sure that some people look for a used copy, when it comes to older books. For example, I just did a search on ABEBOOKS, and there were a couple copies listed there.

Yes, I know that the Look Inside feature in Amazon does not lets you see each page.
I can get the book. Just want to make sure first that it has usable artwork inside before I get it. |

Maybe someone will chime in who owns a copy of "The Birthday Party Business", and can tell you about the magic activity page artwork / promotional artwork in it.
Or maybe you could ask about the contents in The Little Darlings area (there likely are more people in that section who might own the book). Remember, when you have 50 legitimate posts, you can also access the buy and sell area of the Magic Café. And maybe ask about buying either book there. - Donald

Donald, thanks for sharing the link. As you mentioned, those are jumping wands. The artwork included with that is great if you're planning on the jumping wand, but that's it. Some people have purchased it to make their own wand kits, and just change the title to "Magic Wand" instead of "Jumping Magic Wand."
If you're looking for artwork for regular plastic wands, the artwork from Eddie Wade is what I use, but I modified it a lot, like Donald's, but even more. The graphics themselves are very outdated. I just used the drawing of the wands. I put it together on a 4x6 postcard to optimize printing costs. Get the wands wholesale, decide whether or not to package them, and you're well on your way to having a great BOR item, or giveaway Hope that helps! Kevin |

Thanks for the Youtube links, and the artwork is available where for these tricks? Is there a link I may have missed? As the original poster is requesting illustrations for a printed brochure, I am sure he would also like to have written instructions.
OR...do I have to show these vids to an artist so he can then do the artwork? B
