I'm pretty sure that cutting taxes helps the economy. It's really basic logic after all.
So, thinking about it for a few decades now, I've come to the conclusion that THOSE WHO TAX US ..... Don't really CARE if the economy gets better or not.

Cutting taxes to what point exactly?
What is the prefect balance? Zero? Doubtful but if you use your logic as you laughingly refer to it that is the perfect number. I am guessing logic was not your major in college it? ?

Yes ... 0% taxes and the economy would go through the roof!!!!!! Everyone would get to keep every dime they made and they spend it on more goods and services, which would in turn give more people money to spend on more goods and services ........ And it just keeps getting better. That's how economies thrive ... taxes are like a blood sucker trying to get something for nothing ... They are a literal Drain on any economy!

Asked at a recent Republican presidential debate to specify what the highest federal income tax rate should be, the candidates offered various figures: 15 percent from Newt Gingrich, 20 percent from Rick Perry, 25 percent from Mitt Romney, and 28 percent from Rick Santorum.
When it was Ron Paul’s turn to respond, the Texas congressman undercut the previous answers, saying: "We should have the lowest tax that we’ve ever had, and up until 1913, it was 0 percent. What’s so bad about that?"

I think we can eliminate economics as a major as well. Heck based on that last post we can eliminate even an econ 101 course.

Imagine if all working Americans were given $5,000 cash to spend as they pleased? .... (Stimulus failure)
Imagine if all working Americans got to keep every penny? (Like before the IRS) America was once great ... The Vampire of over taxation has brought us to this point .... Sad.... https://video.search.yahoo.com/video/pla......sfp&tt=b https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XMpYO7E1dQ

To live atrociously well in the world you have to become, and this is a beautiful doublespeak a; “public servant”. The servants get paid a great deal more than the people they tax the money off of. Of course the folk who are paying for it all, are always conned into believing they are the masters. They really believe that. Especially them state educated college idiots.

The people who do the taxing, they do spend an awful lot on their red carpet international orgies. It is a wonder at the senate they don’t still wonder about wearing togas.
As for their guards I do wish they would stop strangling the tax payers on the streets.

I also got three months off in the summer, a week+ at Christmas/New Year's, a week at spring break, a few days at semester break, one day a month sick leave that could accumulate over a career and be taken as cash upon retirement if not used, and great bennies (health insurance, pension). Most people work about 260 days a year; we were contracted for 191. I lived in Wisconsin where (according to recent numbers) the "average" middle class family is at about $52,000/yr, so that 76 grand went a lot further than someone living in, say, NY or LA. I had colleagues who were married and teaching, and since one spouse covered both with their insurance they got cash equivalent instead. That's probably in the $175,000 range for the 2-income family. Full retirement was calculated by your age at retirement plus years teaching had to equal 82. So if you started out of college at age 22, taught for 30 years (age 52 + 30 = 82) you could retire at a very young 52 years old with a full pension. Now the government pension and SS supports you for the next 30 years or so. I'm not taking one side or the other here, just informing readers of my real-life situation as a public servant. Draw your own conclusions as to whether or not you think this is "atrociously well". I can tell you I was dedicated and did a good job as a teacher. |

Government employees make much more...Looks like about 50% more in the case sited above... However .. I think the Military is getting a bad deal. Double the suicide rate, wounded warriors, and death panels in the form of endless waiting lines....
Roll taxes back to the 1912 rate.... Don't give illegal aliens in our country a cent. Many or most are paid under the table illegally and pay no taxes at all. Many use 1099's and pay no taxes and simply change their name every year. Reduce taxes on income to 0%.

Middle school and high school. Subjects included engineering, drafting, video production, graphic arts, and manual/vocational arts ("shop" classes). I also facilitated one special education class each semester but I was not a specialist in that area. I also taught adult education at the community college level.
