The Magician takes out an exquisite pocket watch and indicates that it is completely normal. He stops the watch and shows that the clock hands can be moved. After this, the magician closes the watch and lets the spectator move the clock hands randomly. He then opens the watch (for instance 10:09) and stunningly, it matches the prediction which has been sitting on the table the ENTIRE TIME.

1. EASY TO DO
2. NO STOOGES
3. NO FORCING, hands off
4. High quality watch
5. No change or anything on prediction
6. Hand to multiple spectators to rotate the clock hands
7. 100% RELIABLE!
8. 100% ACCURACY!
9. Can be examined before and after performance.

$99.95 (at Hocus Pocus)

Isn't this just a very cheap version of Collector Workshop's Geneva Prediction Watch?

What a terrible line to start a performance!

Why using gimmicks when you can do that same effect with an ungimmicked watch? Anyone has this to share his opinions?

Thanks

Haha! I agree.

However, I'm not sure that's a patter line, probably more of a description.

Never trust a man with a pocket watch, that's what I was told. Lol.

I wonder if the method is the same as CW.

Is this a 'knockoff' or 'ripoff' situation?

Should we contact Mr. Blaney?
(seriously should we?)

I proudly own a Geneva watch. It's awesome.

By just reading the description it seems a different effect. In 00:00 the spectator makes the watch "stop" at the time "predicted" and chosen by the performer. In Geneva it's the spectator to call the time. I don't know if it's clear.
I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death my right to say "scr*w you" if you persist. [Voltaire Smile]

Maybe I'm not understanding the effect, but this just seems more technological than magical to me. If it was a borrowed watch, then I'd be impressed.

It seems to me no one calls a time but the door of the watch is shut and the spindle is spun to seemingly pick a random time which is predicted by the performer . So seems like perhaps when door of watch is closed it puts a force and false😃 watch front on via a magnet or something , speculating of course and wondering whether the second hand still spins on revealed time ?

If it was £35 or so, I'd take a punt on it..because it can be done with a regular watch, and I have my own psyche force for a time...or just using what banachek taught, you can do something near identical...so you're paying the money for having the clockface shut, rather than face down...hmmm...seems a bit drastic...

i guess its nice enough...but too pricey for the extra benefits...

If you want to buy a gimmicked watch, I would be cautious of watches made in China. Not sure where this one is made, but just look up the "customer reviews" on all the new "brand name" watches (yes, most all are made in China and the brands are relatively new) popping up on the internet and on sites like Amazon.com. It is very telling.

You can do the same and more convincingly with a cheap $10.00 watch.
