Josh take a breath.
It is a good idea. I would attend but it would be giving a monkey a space ship. Useless as I probably would not be able to utilize it properly. That is my limitation mind you not yours. Don't let it be a passing thought. I bet you do well with it.

I like the concept as well, but even for free it only works for me if I know the focus and topics. The reality is that many regular participants here have forged many channels for good free information specific towards their needs. Attending a webinar is a time investment. Without stated objectives other than to allow the producer a chance to test out software, it appeals to a smaller audience.

Let me know too when you have the webinar, Josh. I really enjoy the other material I purchased from you. Your material gets great reviews from everyone who purchased it.
Benji Bruce has a fine marketing DVD course. It is called "Get Booked." It stands up to it's name. It help boosted my business. There is always a sell out with his DVDs. See, "out of stock" again: http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S14202#reviews He has a book too: http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S14234 |

Yes I have Benji's set too - it is pretty good and there are some wise tips.
It is more of a CD (vocals only) than a DVD - kind of a PowerPoint presentation really. He's a little cocky IMO - but getting past that as I said there are some pearls there and it has some worthwhile ideas.

According to this article http://blog.hubspot.com/blog/tabid/6307/......nar.aspx webinars work best when conducted on Wednesday or Thursday at 1pm or 2pm Eastern Time. That being said, Dynamike points out the fact that School show are often occur at that time. If you conduct it in the summer, that is not an issue. I would imagine corporate shows could occur both in the day and at night (for that matter school shows often do as well).
Anyway, I would be interested because I believe it would be a quality event. |

So, they are often busy on weekdays & daytime with those shows instead (and some library shows are on the weekends, which is different from most school assembly shows). And again, some school shows and library shows do happen in the evenings. I have lots of (U.S.) magician friends on Facebook currently talking about how school shows are ending and library shows are starting. Here in BC, Canada, our school year goes until the end of June. Really, to serve the most people, a replay will need to be made available. - Donald

The simple solution is to have it on a Sunday or Monday night (or whatever) and have a replay option. Plus most schools are ending soon if not already for school talent.

Donald - funny thing is, I am one of those loaded with library shows. Not sure how I didn't think of that.
Sunday, or Monday night may be a good when targeting entertainers. |

Mindpro is right - replays are essential for webinars.

I have a lot of First Communion gigs on Sunday nights this time of year. The gigs can start at 9, 10 or 11 pm. It is hard on Sundays for magicians who perform at First Communion gigs.
Charlie, a lot of magicians perform at a lot of day camps in the daytime on weekdays too in the summer time. Eric and I have a long list of them. A lot of non-profit organization give a lot of programs also because school is out. Quote:

Although out of the price range for many magicians....Harrison Carroll's course on Tradeshow magic is beyond fantastic. Even if you are not interested in Tradeshow magic, his training on Sales, Marketing, Contracts, Website, Referrals, Cold Calling, Lead Hunting, dealing with price objections, and hidden objections is worth every penny.
I might also mention he covers: Fees, Billing expenses, writing proposals, buying leads, elevator pitch, closing the sale, confirmation notes, purchase orders, deposit invoice, cell phone users, unreasonable clients, hecklers, using a company's products, lead follow-up, etc (I think you get the point) I can't recommend this course enough. Sure dip your toe in the water with a single DVD or down load that skims the surface but if you want a full on course then this is your answer. Balking about the price? Book one gig and it pays for this course. http://www.thetradeshowuniversity.com/

That's good to hear as by taking a quick look at the website it may not appear too impressive for a longtime trade show performer. I know his name and experience are well known. I don't think the price range is out of range at all.
It funny how things come in and out of favor here. Trade Shows were a hot topic a while back bit not much noise lately. Maybe this training will stir some interest for those willing to put in the time and work long floor hours for a good return. |
