Okay, not exactly a bullet catch, but:
"After a card had been selected and a corner torn away for identification, the Colonel's hands were tied behind his back and the card burned. The ashes were put in a pistol and fired directly at the performer. Whereupon the selected card appeared on his breast! The corner held by the spectator matched it!"
