This is the name of a book written by a Spanish coin magician called Joaquin Navajas.

I want to know if any of you know about this book and where to find it.

I heard that is a wonderful book that is a must have for any coin worker.

Any information will be appreciated

Thanks

By the way the title in English is My Personal Coins.

I have it Smile

Coin workers: that is one of the best booklets you could purchase.

Joaquin Navajas is a genius, and has some GREAT sleights that are really revolutionary.

Here in Spain he's well known, but because of an illness I think he can't perform magic any more Smile

User MCuesta knows him very well as he works at MagiaMadrid store with him, and soon they will publish a new edition of "Mis Monedas Personales".

Beside this, Miguel Angel Gea is another genius of coinwork here in Spain, and he has a lecture about Navajas's ideas. It is called: "Mi Magia Con Sus Monedas", that's to say: "My Magic With His Coins".

Great stuff, best I have.

Carlos, do you know one Mago Marko? He is a magician who spent much of his profesional days in Spain. Anyhow, I hope to be buying a large part of his library soon, and hopefully will get my hands on this book!

Would this be "My Magic With His Coins" or "My Magic With Your Coins?"

Because of the ambiguity of the word "sus" in Spanish, the title could be translated either way.

it means "My Magic With Navajas' coins" so "My Magic With His Coins"

All well and good... that is when a translation becomes available.

Any time frame for those books over here?

I have been trying to fin this book Mis Monedas Personales from Joaquin Navajas or the one Carlos suggested Mi Magia Con Sus Monedas by Miguel Angel Gea. Does any one know any store overseas that might have them. Your help would be very appreciated.

For "Monedas Personales" contact http://www.magiamadrid.com

If you look for "Mi magia con sus monedas", it's free for now, you can get it from any p2p client, as Miguel Angel GEa said on spanish forum (www.damainquieta.com) and in his booklet, that he allows all copies of his booklet, as he is not doing that lecture tour. (You can read it in the first page)

Little Spanish Lesson: Smile
"Sus": in America and the very south of Spain, they use "sus" for "yours" (plural or not) and "his"
In Spain tus=yours sus=yours(plural or very polite) sus=his/her/theirs. The last one is the most used for "sus" in Spain.

From Valencia (Spain),

Carlos Perez

I forgot to say that Miguel Angel Gea doesn't explain the revolutionary technique of Joaquin. Instead, he explains routines or ideas that came to his mind while studying Navaja's work.
Don't expect to find there the detailed descriptions of the techniques.

These are two very complementary booklets, and if I had to chose one, I would chose the Joaquin Navaja's, as being the beginning Smile

I can read Spanish (slowly), but is this booklet illustrated? Are the techniques described well? I've read English texts that were so poorly written they might as well have been in Russian (which I can't read).

Joaquin Navaja's booklet has very interesting drawings of the hand (reminds me the art of astonishment style, you see?) rather than pictures/photos. Every move has its detailed drawing, step by step.

On the other hand, Gea's booklet is illustrated with pictures(photo) of his hands (obscure photo's though)

In both booklets, just with the images you get the idea. Well, you won't find there the subtleties that are explained in plain text, you know.

Hi all,

it seems that our young lady Ella (Claudia from Spain, Grunjarra) used Navaja's move "La Catapulta" in her routine "En una pequeña caja":

(second coin disappearance)
Just in case you would like to know how it looks,... though it can't be seen Smile

Giacomo opened this topic about this routine:

Kind regards.

Hi everyone!

We are doing a tribute seminar for Joaquin Navajas at Memorial Ascanio this year in Madrid (March 1 and 2) with the best Spanish coinworkers including Joaquiin himself!, it’s going to be great. I know Madrid is quite far away from you guys but I just wanted you to know.

http://www.memorialascanio.com/horario.php

Also we are working on a revised and expanded edition of Joaquin’s book (Monedas Personales) including unpublished material, we want to give the material the high quality wrapper it deserves. I cannot give a date but it may be available in Spanish at the end of the year, the idea is to translate it into English ASAP so his superb work be available worldwide.

Be patient Smile

Best Regards

Yon can see one of the most amazing ideas from Joaquin in this video. The first part of this routine is on his book and it is called "vuelo metálico" Luis Piedrahita is preforming this little piece of jewelry of the coin magic. Is less than a minute but is great. I think that Luis is wearing that blue pullover as an homage to Joaquin because Joaquín uses to wear blue pullovers. The okito box routine is not in his book, I think is Piedrahita´s idea.
