I think there's a clear difference between Luke's approach and the approach he despises. The main one being that he does his act for entertainment purposes and not to profit off of the vulnerable. Luke doesn't claim to talk to the dead, and it's mediums he hates so much. Predicting the future is an entirely different act to mediumship.

Actually, he does claim to be able to predict the future.

Such a claim would not make him a shut-eye. The issue would be whether he believed it or not, not whether he claimed it.

Just bought it. Will report back. Luke's thinking is generally amazing.

Fun fact: Page 9 of the PDF seems to be a cropped version of the cover of my "Fortune Telling with Playing Cards" PDF:

You can still see a bit of my name on it! I'm honoured to think Luke might have read my humble PDF at some point.

Anyway, excited to read/listen to this one. Will hopefully have some time to get my teeth into it tonight.

Hey yea I have your PDF. It is the same pic. That's funny.

Pretty sure Luke advertises himself as an entertainer. Nothing wrong with selling a book to readers for entertainment purposes.

So, trying to get back on topic, has anyone read this yet? If so what are your thoughts? I love Luke's work and I am eager to get this myself.

I've posted my thoughts based on a first read-through / listen in this thread.

FWIW, there's only 40 minutes or so before the introductory price runs out. If you're tempted, you can save a significant amount by buying now.

I read through it once. I think or is very good. It goes along the lines of his reading approach from the "Mind"-Set. If you have those DVDs you will recognize some techniques although they are being applied in a new context. In addition, Luke uses some gimmicked cards everyone will be familiar with. So it's not just a regular deck... For me, that fact was no letdown. If you know Luke's material you know he likes certain card gimmicks.
Although I have read or watched several aspects of the book elsewhere in Luke's work before, it was certainly a worthwhile purchase!

And yes... I was wrong... He does predict the future...

I have ONLY read the description of the effect and not yet read through the method. This is therefore my first thoughts. However, this contains some elements of Jermay's previously released material that I own so I pretty much knew what was going on (which is not a bad thing).

It's a very good structured routine in three stages. No p**-s***, nothing written down. The whole act revolve around playing cards and their inherent meaning.
Your start out with giving two readings linked to cards chosen by two spectators (this is sure-fire). Then you move on by having four spectators join you on stage. You have them think of a question each and then proceed to answer their question as well as reveal specific details like a name or a special date (this is also as surefire as it can be with some kind of DR at work). Then you do it for a couple of people in the audience (here you have to practice some reading abilities, but he provides you with the tools to do this easily. Very clever). You finish by pointing out a psychic member in the audience that you feel possesses real psychic powers. You demonstrate the spectator's ability by doing a very good presentation of a classic method (it's surefire). I guess this would be a very strong final phase.

You're a provided with a full script and a mp3 file where he goes more into some of the aspects of the effect.

I will provide further thoughts when I'm finished reading - and listening Smile

I think it will be interesting to share my experience. I was one of the participants who was invited to be a part of this beautiful Q&A routine during a close-up performance by Luke in a magic convention. He performed two phases of this routine to a roomful of magicians. He asked me to focus on a question and choose a card. By reading the cards he gave me a reading that not only answered my question but all of the participants' questions (providing detailed information such as name and events). He did not approach me before the show nor did he ask me to write anything down. I saw Luke walking past after he politely thanked me for my assistance and I told him that the routine was inspiring and made me felt good. Forget about the methods for a second, at that moment when Luke answered my question I felt empowered and inspired, that is where the money is at. With minimal props you can generate a full act that can entertain, empower and educate. Not to mention I really loved the presentation of this act.

I bought it immediately after it’s release since I am a fan and I felt even more inspired by what Luke has provided. It packs small but plays big and he even teaches a way to generate back rooms sells. What Luke has done here is he has given you a full 35 minutes act, with sure fire methods. In terms of drawback obviously the price is pretty high(even higher than his DVD set), but considering he is selling a full act, I think it is worth it. (side story: When Luke invited 4 people on stage he asked each of us to give him something in return, after he answered our questions. I searched my pockets and the most expensive thing I had on me there was my MD mini, but thank god later he said it was merely a joke) Another disappointment that I had was the fact that the second phase of the routine is actually in the Jermay’s Mind DVD set in disc 4. So I am paying for something that he already taught, however he only went through the basics and quickly went through it in that section. I think Cartomancy is a lesson beyond methods and deception, he mentions about the importance of connection and he teaches that with great details. Great stuff!!

Hey guys, here is a review I made about my purchase of Cartomancy. Spoiler alert, it is great and worth the pricetag if used correctly. Hope you all enjoy!

We at Vanishing Inc. believe that for the money, being able to get a polished and complete act, including complete scripts is a rare thing these days. A complete act, not just one routine! That rings doubly true considering this is an act which has the capacity to profoundly connect with an audience.

Another important element to Cartomancy is that it uses playing cards. An item which magicians already handle with comfort and ease. An item magicians already know backward and forward. An item, perhaps most important, which your audience expects you to have and to know arcane details about. It is an exceptionally organic way for a magician to get into readings.

For specifically those reasons, this truly is an exceptional bargain. If you'd like to look deeper into this act, follow the Cartomancy link.

I my opinion, Cartomancy is not for Readers (and is not marketed for Readers) it's for Mentalists, who want a Q&A act that requires nothing to be written down, and Cartomancy does that.

In regards to E.I. the effects and methods are good, even if someone disagrees with Luke's opinion(s).

It's written and designed for stage. But could, in theory, be adapted. It would a little work on the part of the performer though.

If one doesn't want to buy it, then don't buy it!
If he has issues with the author, talk to the author.
Very simple.
Let's go back to Cartomancy...

The bonus Tarot kit is also very interesting, if you want to do this with Tarot as opposed to playing cards.

"Games People Play" Eric Berne": "Let's You And Me Get Mad At Him"

It's a juvenile game played by the emotionally immature.

Dave, if you have any issue with Jermay, deal with Jermay directly like a big grown up would do. Whining and squalling here, trying to get everyone on your side obviusly isn't working. You are wrong on almost all your assumptions, including the illogical idea of issuing refunds and 'recalls' because someone changes aspects, words or opinion down the years.

But that's not the point is it? Your points aways seem to be little more than 'poking the pig to hear him squeal'...and posting non-sense as clickbait.

Your whining has nothing to do with the OP. Stop derailing with your blue smoke and fake outrage. Nobody cares, not even you.

Thanks MatCult for the reply. So can I use it for one on one situation?

Did you need a special deck of cards to perform this?
