Stay Cool – Tobias Dostal

Product description : A refreshing trick in which your glasses will appear and change 2 times of colour ! A unique plot, is it worth the price asked and your consideration ? Let's find out.

Price and where to buy it : This is sold at $49.95 and you can find it in the Ellusionist store.

What you get : You get a very nice box with foam inside to protect the glasses and the gimmick provided. The glasses are standard black ones, they seem to really protect from the sun so you can easily use them ! The gimmick looks very cool and should last quite some time. However, I find that a part of it may break after intensive use. Maybe Ellusionist will consider do refills. The instruction video are very well shot and you get to learn everything you have to learn.

Teaser : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBhrY7ytbvY

The pros and the cons : Here is the core of my review, let's begin with the cons, as I will usually be doing, I prefer to keep the good things for the end.

THE CONS :
It's not a easy trick ! I thought at first that it would be quite easy to do but you will have to put some time into mastering the appearance with the gimmick on.
The final change will be quite difficult because you end in a very unatural position. Maybe a topit or a small item in your pocket so you will be able to clean yourself up.

THE PROS :
It's a unique plot in magic and you look very cool while doing it ! It changes from the usual "pick a card" I will find it. Hopefully, you don't have to scream "Wooooooooooo" every time you do it.
The whole thing feels quality, you don't feel ripped off at all. The box is very classy and the props are well made. I think it shoud last if you take care of it.
It's a quick and flash trick, you will be performing it as an opener because it will sell the fact you're a magician in the minds of the spectator.
I think that, with a little bit of imagination, you can come up with a much more easy handling of the trick. The fact you can chose which bits of the routine you want to do is also very nice, you can modulate the routine as you want.

Overall rating : If you have the money and that you like the effect, you won't be disappointed by "Stay Cool". The props are well made and the instructions are top class. However, you will have to put time and efforts into it if you want it to look as good as Tobias. 3/4 hearts.

As for the difficulty level, as I said, it's not very easy, 4/5 stars.

Similar products : I never saw anything like this, it's a unique plot and a very visual one !

I like this trick a lot. I really do. But to the con-list I would like to add one thing. Yhey all wear black clothes while explaining how to handle a pair of black glasses. That makes is quite hard to see what is going on.

I saw a video of Magick Balay performing this at a bar in NYC, the reaction of a guy at the bar was priceless!

Love this effect! It's just a shame that the props are horribly made. I purchased this and the gimmick broke super quickly, then they sent a replacement which broke shortly after as well. Shame..
