In 1920 British Occultist Aleyster Crowley opened in Cefalu his Abbey of Thelema.
Now it is left to the elements, but some frescoes of the Great Beast can still be seen on the walls and a strange atmosphere still lingers within the ruins .... The Abbey was a small house converted into a real center of studies and practice of occult arts. Two women were pregnant, Crowley was the father but only one children was born. In 1923, a 23-year-old man named Raoul Loveday died at the Abbey. The cause of death remained a mystery, although some obscure hypothesis began to take shape ..... In the story of Abbey of Thelema there are so much elements to put into a full seance...don't you think? |

I remember chatting with a sleight of hand magician on Thelemic occult forum who told me that Donald Kraig had done a Crowley show. Wish I had inquired about it before his passing.
