I don't know, but he can look very cross-eyed when he's focusing on something close to his face; it's pretty comical.
And all part of his disarming scheme of world domination.

I have really fallen for the Scottish Fold. Just one look, and you cannot resist:

Will cats someday rule the world? You are asking the wrong question. Who is cleaning who's toilet?
Reality is a real killjoy.

Oh, man. Yeah. I'm seriously thinking about it. But to be fair, I want the cat to be happy. Not alone and restricted. No way am I letting it outside. Every cat I have ever had that was an outdoor cat was run over. Every ONE of them! Only one died of old age.
I would have to cat-proof my apartment. Too many delicate things on shelves. I like giving the cat freedom. I let them jump up on the table, shelves, wherever. They like high places. See the mantle Abbie and Sam are on? I'd make my two mantles and my shelves for the cat. Clear 'em off. Put a nice pad up there. But realistically, I leave sometimes for a week/two weeks and go to Boston, etc. I've left my cat for two weeks before. Enough food/water, and two cat litter boxes, and it was fine. But I cannot imagine how the thing felt about being alone all that time. Maybe I oughtta think about getting two cats... Doug |

Two cats are nice. And you're right, they are pretty independent. I have an engineer friend who built a pretty creative feeding system. It was basically a revolving disc, much like a gumball machine. It was hooked up to a timer and twice a day it dispensed dry food. Of course in my case, Sam would gobble up the food and poor Abbie would die. A gravity-feed watering system works well.

And really, two cats are not really more expensive than one. In Florida, I had FIVE cats and a racoon. The 'coon ate cat food. All were happy. I love animals...

A Serval! Wow! Nice cat! I volunteered for Octagon Wildlife Sanctuary in Florida. Took care of baby tigers, panthers, a leopard, and, my favorite, a Florida Panther. She and I bonded, and that cat grew into a loving, gentle and very kitty-cat like big cat. A foot doctor took her home along with another Florida Panther, and they became part of his magic act.
But my 600lb leopard, King, was the cat to have. He was so cool! Like a big dog. I miss all those cats. Doug |
