Have you ever had someone cancel a show and had to pay? Or cancel a show and did not want to pay?

It is rare Don, but it has happened. The contract I use (and by the way, comes as a free bonus with enrollment in the Trade Show University), locks the client into having to pay the full fee, even if they cancel.
Now, depending on your relationship (for example - Big Client with repeat business) you can determine if you want to enforce the contract, or work out a settlement. I've had to enforce my contract on three occasions, which is not bad considering a thirty year career. In all three cases the company paid. If they do not want to pay, the contract I use gives me all the leverage. It could cost them more NOT to pay than it would to simply pay it. |

Any time Don. More importantly, thanks for asking so many good questions.
