Nobody is suggesting that a worker who gets a $5 an hour raise in a yacht factory can now go and buy a yacht; but almost all of that low-wage worker's salary gets spent and enters the economy almost immediately, benefiting the entire economy as opposed to the wealthy who can afford to hold on to their money until the right time for investment comes. The "Ford isn't the government" argument makes no sense as an argument that increased wages makes no difference in the economy. That is the argument I was addressing. If you want to switch to the "employers shouldn't be compelled to do X,Y,Z," then that is a different argument. Clearly a federal minimum wage is Constitutional, as best I know, no court case has ruled against such. Within the framework of American Capitalism tradition, a minimum wage is something that indeed can be compelled.

Where does that money come from?
See you want to avoid the words "redistribution of wealth" but it is EXACTLY what you are talking about. It had never worked. Price spikes will happen. And again why is $15 the magic number? Why not $100? Why not redistribute ALL the profits from those evil corporation owners so that everyone has an equal share, or at least what you determine is equal?

It's hard to find on the internet, but labour laws are not unique to the USA. 8-hour workdays were implemented in New Zealand in the 1840s and in Australia in the 1850s. (Child labour was restricted to 8 hours in the UK back in 1833.)
Weird to think that the whole world has history. But it's true.

Henry Ford treated his workers like parts of a living machine. There was nothing new about auto society idea; clockwork people, automatons if you will, each doing his part in the workers’ paradise. Who needs people when we have robots? What I wonder do robots buy? If we could make a robot that runs on McDonald burgers we could program them it work for worthless bits of dirty paper with which it could buy a burger to keep going. Shopaholic robots would be good for the dirty paper economy. They could read Mein Camp and learn all about Henry Ford and how to become an industrialist.

I don't think Ford gave a dammn about anything other than producing the best cars he could. He paid the best and probably expected the best.
The secondary effects on the economy were just natural.

I don't think Henry Ford used slave labour in Nazi German plants but he did anyway.

Are there only two economic options in the whole world? Or are both/either possible to modify?

To point at only the problems of any system and claim it does not work is just a fallacy.
To point to ONLY the problems with socialism and claim it does not work is disingenuous as well.
