Hey Café,
Check it out: http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/4088 An ORDINARY OBJECT. A SNAP of the FINGERS. A VISUALLY VOLATILE RESTORATION. Best part? It’s INCREDIBLY EASY to do. You reach into a pack of Oreos and pull a cookie out. You bite off a piece, put the remaining cookie in the palm of your hand, SNAP your fingers… and the cookie FLIPS INTO THE AIR, FULLY RESTORING itself in the process. Why cut and restore a magician’s rope when you can bite and restore an everyday object? A COUPLE IMPORTANT POINTS: -There’s another bite-and-restore cookie on the market…that doesn’t quite look like an Oreo. This thing REALLY looks like an Oreo, even close up. Same design, white in the middle—you’re going to love the way this thing looks. -Rick will teach you several ways to restore the cookie: The Flip Restoration, The Wave Restoration, and the Classic Spit Restoration. In the 15-minute accompanying download, you’ll also learn a simple in-the-hands break-and-restore routine (for those of you who don’t like doing magic with your mouth). There’s a restoration to fit every performer. -Cookie Fix makes the PERFECT OPENER. It’s fast, it’s stunning, and it transcends culture and language. Everyone’s going to FLIP OUT when they see Cookie Fix. Be prepared for massive reactions. You’ve been warned! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it. -Rick |

This looks really good Rick. But, I can see a spectator wanting to see the cookie immediately after the restoration. At least with the quarter a shuttle pass or any other false transfer/switch ditches the dirty work. Any thoughts on handling this?

It takes 4 to 6 minutes for the brain to die without oxygen. I can fix anything in that amount of time.

You could have a small (uk term) sweetie paper bag with the real one in the bottom, then just do a fake 'put' or similar...would make sense to put it in a little wrapper of some kind as a gift...
or, just buy a pack of oreos, eat most of them, and just leave two or three in the wrapper, put the gimmick inside and do the same kinda thing...

The short answer is, if you're worried about this, you'll want to offer them a cookie before they say anything. After you finish the trick, you can just ask: "You want a cookie?" Then reach into the pack and pull out a 2nd cookie for them. (And as you do secretly switch the Bite Cookie for a regular cookie). Then you wait for them to ask to see YOUR cookie, and then you can hesitate a bit...and then give it to 'em. Or you can do what Flom does: Put it back in the package, make a joke, and move on to the next thing. |

Is this same effect as "The Crummy Cookie Trick"?
Does it come with two cookies, and extra props? Is this the same company? http://www.amazon.com/Crummy-Cookie-Delu......08Z21GU8 If not, what is the difference? How is it better? |

Same design and texture. The other one doesn't have the right design and looks glossy. The Penguin one does not come with two cookies or extra props, but does come with everything you need to perform all the effects shown in the trailer. |

Nabisco just came out with a 'Limited Edition" series of four different fillings for Oreo cookies and the "Cookies & Creme" ones look really good with the Cookie Bite gimmick. The filling is about the same shade as um....say, a rubber band. |

It is strong visuals. This is just part of a 7 minute fun family routine mixed with some other contributions by Chris T magician and Bizzaro.
