Does anyone have a source for a good looking 36" Blendo sunburst silk?

I've looked at sites like P&L, Hank Lee's etc., I came across a few that were like a target with the concentric circles, but I'm after a nice tie-dye sunburst effect.
Any ideas?

The lady who runs Rice Silks, Ruth Rice Crone, posts here. Her family name "Rice" has the longest history of quality silks in all of magic...forever. I would suggest you locate one of her posts and PM her. You will find one in this section under sympathetic silks. She may have what you want orpossibly would custom design something. Her father, Harold Rice, really was the silk king.

The blendo I use is a P&A (I think that's what you meant, instead of P&L). It's WONDERFUL. As I posted in another heading here...I don't know if P&A is selling anything anymore or not. Apparently there are some health (Peter smokes too much) issues. I'd recommend EITHER Rice or P&A. Mine's a really nice tie dye sunburst.

Check with Abbott's Magic Mfg. Co., Colon, MI. The produce their own tie dyed silks and blendos.

Rice does not make the blendo's anymore. When they did they only made them in their design silks, rabbit in hat, dragon, butterfly, etc. No sunburst blendos.

They also produce a 36" sunburst color changing silk. If not on their web site, email the owner Greg Bordner.

He can help you.

Hello Futureal:

I'll echo wmhegbli's thoughts: Contact Abbott's for a tie dyed silks. I've bought their 6 foot silk and flagstaff as well as their mutilated parasol. Both items used tie dyed silks. The colors are very vivid, and silk they use is nice and thick - my guess is 8 momme.

Unfortunately, their website is not very helpful - I call them whenever I want to order something. They've been very helpful and prompt.

Concerning P&A: If you can get their tie-dyed blendo, you'll be very happy because it is a thing of beauty. Denny and Lee carry a large selection of silks from P&A; you might want to contact Denny to see if he has what you want.

Hello Silk Magic Fans,

I want to correct some of the information that has been posted here about Rice's Silks. We are still selling 36" blendos in the following designs: Clown, Rabbit in the Hat, Butterfly, Dragon and Junior Flag Blendo. We did make sunburst blendos at one time, but none are available now. They are pictured and described on the Silk King Studios webpage at http://www.silkkingmagic.com. If you need additional information, please feel free to email me.

I think this Sunburst Blendo looks nice. http://www.abra4magic.com/magic-tricks/p1063.html I used to perform this in my show. These are from india and the prices are really cheap. But they're are selling very expensive on the net. I remember I bought it around US$10 or slightly more.

I make prepared sunburst silk blendos. I hem and dye my own silks. I make tie dyes from 15" to 90" in 6 and 8 momme and a variety of designs. I use the traditional red-yellow blue or the more modern- neon pink, yellow and turquoise.

If you check my website, you can get more information on the silk. and the the different looks of the various colors and designs.
I would suggest that if you do a prepared blendo that it is made of at least 8 momme silk and is reinforced around the gimmick area.

Personally, I prefer the tie-dyed pattern "rounder" than that pictured on the abra4magic.com site, above. It just looks a little funny, being sort of square in shape. I have a six-foot P&A tie-dyed silk (not for blendo), that is really nice, and looks like it could have actually "blendo'ed".

I have seen some performers "blendo" several silks into a silk that doesn't have exactly the same colors. This looks sort of strange to me, but probably doesn't matter to anyone else. Since Richard dyes his own silks, I'm sure this wouldn't be a problem.

Although I haven't seen Richard's silks, if they are of the quality of the rest of the apparatus he makes, I don't think you could go wrong with them.
