McBride teches some techniques on his 3 volume video course on card manipulation. I would certainly start there and invest in theose tapes if you have not already. he will give you a good overview on technique form which you can study.

Thanks magic4u02. I already have that trilogy.

I noticed that Chen's throwing is a little bit different, I think that the cards cannot be seen before the throwing. Also, I haven't practice the McBride method, but I don't know if that is the same that he uses at the end of his card manipulation show where he throws the cards to the floor and they bounce.

any comments?

I do not think Chen has released the method that she may use. If so, I have not seen it around.

I have come up with my own throwing technique for multiple cards in the palm of the hand. The method is good because the cards remain hidden until they are seen in the air.

McBride also does not teach his card bounce technique as that is a signature move of his.

Actually I don't think McBride was the first person to 'bounce' cards, I'm sure it has been done by some of the older magicians. There isn't much technique to it... if you exert the card with enough force, and have the angle right, it should do what you want it to!

What about the surface you're bouncing them off? I would imagine it would be more difficult with certain surfaces, if not sometimes impossible??

It would be very difficult on sand.
