In the end, nothing will happen to the Cos. It's all a show trial and the woman testifying already took money from him. She agreed to take money, she should shut up and move on.

With all the psychotropic medications that Americans are on today it must be difficult to avoid seducing somebody there not off their head on something.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Drugged and raped dozens of women... out in 3 years. Not sure that is "justice".

Yea even 1 woman is too high a number. Dozens is a serial offense. 3 seems very low.

Agree. Though the sentence is 3 to 10 years. Only up for parole after 3 years. I do think the victims will be present at his parole hearing in 3 years to speak against letting him out. But yes, the sentence was a very light one!

We’re also talking about an 81 year old man. Three years may well be a sizable portion of his remaining lifespan.

Isn't the sentence the maximum? If a 22 tazer old did it that is the sentence. Age of offender does not matter.

They have already reported on his first day another inmate threw a stale hot dog bun in his face. Also, he "fell down a flight of stairs because no one was guiding him and they obviously took his cane from him." He also reportedly called his wife and told her to “Grab the checkbook and hire anyone and everyone” who could get him out “as soon as possible.”

Due to Cosby's elderly age and legal blindness, he will be put in a special geriatric unit separate from General-Population. Otherwise, as soon as he sets foot in the General-Population, he'll be dead meat. After all, his sentence is not the death penalty but incarceration only.

I don't care what the result is. He drugged and raped more than one woman. How many years do you think a person should get for such a thing? Drugged and raped dozens of women Ed. Here is a complete list of his accusers. Read it carefully. Read it all. over 50 women Ed. http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2014......ies.html
I don't care if he dies in prison Ed. What should that have to do with anything? LOTS of people die in prison. It is supposed to be unpleasant isn't it? Isn't that the idea Ed? The sentence is the sentence and the only sad thing is it took until he was in his 80's to catch up to him. He has had due process. He has been convicted of a hideous crime and should be punished for it regardless of his age. And out in 3 seems a pretty easy punishment for his behavior.

While he has been accused of raping a number of women. He has not been indicted (yet) for them. It doesn't matter and should not influence the sentencing (as it was not). He was convicted for drugging and raping one woman. The loss of freedom is the punishment. He has almost no freedom of movement incarcerated. He can not chose his roommate, his diet, when he eats, his play time, when he gets to get out of his cell, or even when he can take a shower.
The purpose for having prisons is two-fold (at least) first is to provide a just sentence (often called a punishment) and second to protect the public from the convicted persons continued criminal activity. Judges take all sorts of variables into consideration when sentencing. Age is a factor as is number of convictions, severity of the crime, mental health status, and even if any restitution was made. Often there is a pre-sentencing investigation completed to provide the judge this information. Crosby continues to deny his guilt and an appeal is in the works. That is the smart thing for him to do. Cosby is not likely to be a continued danger to society given his celebrity, age, and health problems. The sentence of 3 to 10 years seems light to some but the judge felt it was a just sentence to award for the crime and considering the mitigating factors. Three years is the earliest he can be considered for parole. Very few fellows are awarded parole the first time they are eligible. Some, given the seriousness of their crime, are never granted parole but serve the full sentence. Crosby will probably be an ideal, well behaved, inmate. He will probably make parole first time being considered. I suspect that by the time he is eligible he will be bed ridden and very ill as his medical condition worsens. A wrinkle to be considered. Given his age and health it is possible that he can be awarded medical parole. That is a parole granted earlier than release dates based on the failing medical condition of the inmate. Cosby might just get released earlier If he needs close nursing home care due to his seriously failing health and an expectation to die with in a short time period. If he becomes enfeeble and bed ridden, demented, near dying the department of corrections may petition the parole commission for a medical parole. That would move him to a nursing home or hospice. For the taxpayers it is cheaper to house an individual in a nursing care facility than it is to house in a prison. Remember the due process is not over until the appeal process is spent. If there was a technical error in his prosecution and/or trial he may be released immediately. I suspect that if he is not granted freedom upon appeal then he will die in prison before he hits the three year mark due to the stress of prison life. As much as it sounds to be a very light sentence I believe that it will be the death of him. He was found guilty based on the evidence presented and I believe he got (is getting) what he deserved.
