RowdyMagi5, I tracked down one of Terri Rogers' "Blockbuster" effects. It is indeed amazing to see the ring go into the slot and penetrate the cord! Thanks for the recommendation.
It's still magic even if you know how it's done.

Just came across a trick that almost meets the criteria of my original post: Brett Bishop's "My Precious." Your finger turns invisible as you push it through a borrowed ring. While you won't quite fool yourself, the method is ingenious, and it sure is fun to practice in a mirror and watch your finger disappear.
It's still magic even if you know how it's done.

The Secret Box
you present a small pillbox made of tin - which is sealed with a lid. By shaking the pillbox it is apparent there is something contained within the box. However, when the lid is removed there is nothing to be seen. Very clever idea. A rattle box ... oh my, no. |
