I have heard that this is mediocre at best and quite frankly the people who I know who bought are amazed that Jermay and Archer have endorsed this at all . Very very average indeed apparently and the rest of the book apart from Idd is even worse .

I bought the booklet and I've quite enjoyed Chris's ideas.
Chris's writing style Is easy to follow and the booklet is fully illustrated and diagrammed throughout. My current favourite 'methods/effects' in the booklet are the dry wipe peek idea, Reveal and IDD has set my imagination running, like the idea. The Zodiac idea is good too. I look forward to playing with these ideas and I can see IDD playing well with a specific 'category'. I can't say more than that. Once I've played and performed with these ideas I'll be sure to write back here after a few live performances and let you know how it went. Joel.

Seems like your angry about something and many of your posts have been stretched too far now. You seem to be undermining Christopher personally now and it's coming across a little silly. Reviews are your personal opinions and not a cast iron guarantee of a products success or failure. And neither are mine or yours but to keep bouncing back like you are is now just disrespectful.
Joel.

Ok, I tried to salvage this and Phantom by combining it with DT!
Except when I tried to use Phantom - it had no ink! However, I globbed a wad of goo to an IDD and I got a silly putty impression..... I transferred a picture to a participant's forehead and he freaked when he saw it in the reflection of my two glass eyes. YAY! By combining these two purchases I have created THE ULTIMATE SOMETHING OR OTHER!!!!!!! YEEHAAAA - Caveat Emptor indeedee (I still think we should be able to sell this book IMHO)....

Mentalism authors seem to be making up a lot of fictional rights for themselves lately.
At least in the U.S., the First Sale Doctrine provides the right to resell the purchased book. The first sale doctrine, codified at 17 U.S.C. § 109, provides that an individual who knowingly purchases a copy of a copyrighted work from the copyright holder receives the right to sell, display or otherwise dispose of that particular copy, notwithstanding the interests of the copyright owner. http://www.justice.gov/usam/criminal-res......doctrine https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/17/109 Yes, the book can be freely re-sold. |

I have to agree with others on this thread and say that this book was quite dissapointing. There were a couple of reveal subtleties that I liked, but overall, definitely not worth the asking price.

Chris seems to have gone "poof" for the past few weeks.
I sold my book (well, a really small kids size book of fables) to a lucky buyer this past week. Now I feel much better except for my lightened wallet. Caveat emptor.

Has anybody tried any of the material?
I went for the impromptu peek wallet idea. I did a little work on it and tweeked it a little and tried it out just to replace my usual peek for a routine I perform and it worked really well. Kind regards, Joel.

I think it's excellent and have been using with great success. Just because a small subset of inexperienced amateur magicians decide they don't like it, doesn't make their opinion right. Amazingly, even I've been wrong before but not about this, it's a very worthy addition to the literature.

After buying the Leading Thoughts DVD I knew I should stay away from this book.

As mentioned its not for me and I have already pointed out as have others some of the issues very clearly - my major beef is the not selling it clause which I honour. I will keep it next to my PHANTOM pen. As for you - your comment has no facts to them as you have no idea how many like it or not, who bought it, and whose experience you just insulted. You sir, owe many an apology IMHO. Glad you love it - maybe you can post a youtube of you performing IDD someday to show us a practical real world use of it.
