Performing magic got me a career in the Information Technology industry. I wouldn't have secured the position otherwise.

Being mostly a card magician, it helped me identify other magicians and gave me the opportunity to steer well clear of them.

I mentioned cooking, writing, military history, and magic. I knew from the VPs reaction he thought I was a Phil Dunfee or some such geek. I'm pretty sure it was a ( not THE) reason I wasn't offered the job.

And I made it a point NOT TO SAY Religion. There are many, many faith healers and psychics that scam people using their beliefs and faith that I could make TV Series off of it. You guys put your words and biases into my mouth. Please don't do it again.

A few months later I was called into the new IT Director’s office. There I was offered a job to install the new computerized Point of Sale equipment and train the employees in its use. At the time I knew absolutely nothing about computers and told him so. He told me that computers were easy to figure out. What was more important was that he had seen my performance at the Company Party and thought that I had excellent people and communication skills. I didn’t have the heart to tell him that I have pretty appalling people skills. But very good crowd skills. I took the job. They sent me to a couple of evening classes to learn basic DOS Commands and the rest I picked up myself. When the company went under I was only unemployed for a week before I landed an IT job with the local electric utility. Where I have been steadily employed for the last twenty years. Magic has also taken me to England on three occasions and once to Guam. As well as many other cities in the US that I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to visit. [/quote]

While preparing ribs today I noticed that peeling the membrane from the back of the ribs is a lot like splitting cards.
