Im having a hard time finding Boris Wild's marked deck.
I just watched Boris Wilds' lecture and I am sold on this. It seems like most dealers are out of stock. I also tried Amazon & Ebay. Is there a problem with the printer? I found a few but they are selling for double the regular price. Im going to Tannens and Fantasma tomorrow for some shopping therapy. And Café Rustico. Maybe they'll have it even though it's not on their website.

Call/E-mail Phil or Evy. They will get it to you. I've dealt with them for 40 years and they are extremely dependable. John |

The USPCC stopped printing on Bicycle backs some time ago; so, this deck is no longer available in Bicycle 808's.
Boris Wild has them in Maiden Backs. I now much prefer the Phoenix Marked Decks, which are very similar to Wild's system.

As I haven't seen any of those, comparing his original deck to the Phoenix cards I'd say they're somewhat similar, but not "very". In Wild's system, part of the card's identity is encoded in an entirely different manner. That difference enables you to scan a spread deck for a particular card much more easily, though (for me at least) somewhat at the expense of the speed of reading an individual card. I've got nothing against the Phoenix decks though. They've got their own advantages. |

Thanks for all your recommendations.
I went to Tannens & Fantasma today for a few things. They didn't have the BW deck either.

You can get the new Maiden Back design from Boris: http://www.boriswild.com/magicshop/Boris......eck.html
Looks like Houdini's also has them (I believe they own the Maiden back design): http://www.houdini.com/en/dvd-s/468-bori......eck.html |

Orlan, thanks
I contacted the Houdini website. Their description is pretty vague. I don't know if they're selling the DVD or the deck. I contacted them via email and asked. Boris's website is in Europe and I try not to order from there unless I have to. The shipping is pretty high. Thanks for your help. I hope to hear from Houdinis soon.

I received a reply from Houdinis'.
Their answer was also vague. They said the item includes a DVD and a prop. The original question was:"are the cards included?" The description on their website says DVD and a prop. What else could the prop be if not the cards? The price was about $15. That can't include both a DVD and the BW marked cards. I'll wait until I find something used.

Have you created a search/watch on ebay? I'm pretty sure I've seen a few of these pop up, in fact I just searched and see a few links, one selling bicycle maiden back for $23.95 free shipping, which seems reasonable.

It is fairly easy to make your own marked deck.. Look in any staples or office max for a Gelly Roll pen.

Thanks, but I just bought one.
I went for a day trip to Scranton, PA and stopped by Mel's Magic City. They had one.

Midwest magic is a great place to shop and the folks there are very knowledgable and friendly. One Chicago's best magic shops in my opinion.

I have a quick question regarding the Boris Wild Marked Deck...
Without revealing too much... Can the marks be read from both directions? I just want to know if the markings are placed so that they can only be read when the deck is oriented a certain way, or can they be read from any direction? Thanks. |
Orlan Loyal user WA 223 Posts |
Yes, cards can be read from both directions. If you want to read the markings from a table spread, the spread needs to be done from left to right.
