I know Juan has three books which were translated to English. Can someone give me a brief summary on how those books are like? Tricks, theory, or...?
Thanks very much. |

Sonata is a book of tricks. Magic Way and Five Points are both on theory. Magic Way deals with the construction of effects, while Five Points deals with body language/misdirection.

All three books contain effects. Sonata is the thicker among the three. It is full of amazing effects (among them is what I consider the best card effect ever - total coincidence. One needs to see Tamariz perform it to see its power). The Magic Way tries to present more theory in magic through examples of one effect - oil and water - around 20 versions of oil and water there.
The five points uses tricks through the book to clarify the points. Out of the two, I would go with the five points first, this book opened my eyes regarding performing. All three are recommended. nir |

Are these three books in relation to another?

From my knowledge of these books they are not in relation to each other like the Card College series, but the Tamariz thinking is carried on throughout.
I have Sonata which is excellent. The other two are more difficult to obtain, but I understand will be reprinted. |

Who carries these books and what is the cost for each?

Either that or they are in English already and they are just being reprinted now. Either way we must wait to get these books. |

David, who will be selling these books? I have spoken to reliable sources here in Spain, and no one knows anything about it.

No, they won't. Eventually they will, but "soon" is putting is very positively.
Stephen Minch is publishing a two book set on the memorized deck called Mnemonica. This will be marketed this year sometime. The other three book reprints are not in the works as of yet. Juan is still looking for photos, etc., so those will not come out anytime soon. They have plans for them, but they are not in the works yet. In the publishing business you know that means a fairly long time from now. |

Yes, Sonata is really incredible: lot's of moves, effects and ideas (for cards and knives).
I'm lucky because I can read the French, and all of them are easy to find in French.

I have to say, though, that if I were to learn a foreign language it would probably be Spanish, just for all the card magic. Secondly would probably be French.
