Hello everyone

I was wondering if anyone knew of any sources for doctors bags? I know they pop up on eBay now and again but are there any sites or places that still make new bags?

Thanks

They were available at medical supply houses until the early 1990's. Then they changed to the soft nylon material. I think they are no longer made, as doctors do not make house calls or out of the office services. If you have a medical supply business in your area, I would inquire there.

I found them on Amazon, various styles. They are expensive, but they will last for years.

Adrian,
You can also find them on Etsy. I recently got a 1960's bag from there and it was in great condition. Last I looked I found at least 3 others for sale that were in great shape.

ChrisG is right, Steeles makes them to order one at a time. However, they are pricey. You can get a good vintage one off ebay or etsy for a fraction of the cost.

I have asked doctors about bag use. They said they are a magnet for drug seekers and so are a good way to get mugged ,or worse.

I once had my car broken into and my doctor's bag stolen. It was recovered with many of the props ruined. Police said they were probably looking for drugs.

One alternative to a doctor's bag is a tool bag. I picked up one for use as a range bag at Harbor Freight. Always keep valuables in the trunk, or with you, when possible. Many neighbors have had their vehicles broken into, over the decades, but it's never happened to me.

I found a narrow bag for a laptop that I like because it is so slim.

Not a Doctor's Bag but Meir Yedid sells these neat little pouches for your belt big enough for 2 decks and coins etc.
