This is lovely as a magic effect, but it's also just cool to have on display. I've reserved one for my desk.
You know those times when you are at a gig and you pop over to the bar area to get a glass of water.? There's guests all around you. If, when you arrive, you ask the bar staff to keep your glass there. You can take a drink, put down the glass on it's edge, and sneak in an extra freaky moment... Merchant of Magic have this on the site to order now, shipping out from the UK on the day of release. http://www.magicshop.co.uk/product_info.......d=146672 Best wishes Dominic

That is very cool.
So is the prop the glass, or is it something that can be used with any glass (size and shape permitting)? |

Q
I am assuming that you must use the glass provided. Not possible to do with ANY glass; right? asked by Michael Pierpont on August 25, 2015 A That is correct. Q Is the prop for this glass or plastic? asked by Jay Efran on August 25, 2015 A It's made of glass. Q What is the learning time on this trick? asked by Jack on August 25, 2015 A It's easy to learn. You'll be doing it in no time because it's self working. |

This could fit well into one pistachio routine in doing , as a start . Is this examinable before or after ?

However, if you allow a spectator to try to balance it, they may well be able to do it too. It's really a view only effect, rather than a ' I can do this and you can't' type of thing. I guess you could explain that the glass is magical or has magical powers. I'm not sure why you would want to hand a glass out to be examined though. It's full of your drink and you are using it. I'd have the drink on the side and put it down on edge 'almost by accident', as I reached for something.. Magic along the way.. Then you are moving on to something else. I see a moment in a card effect.. The deck is placed on the table. You are sipping from the glass casually. You say 'now strange things will happen...' You place the glass down on edge and spread out the deck around it, showing that all the cards are face down, except the selection.. etc. Pick up the glass, take a sip and invite the audience to take their card.. Presentation concept: 'This is one of the glasses from the ballroom bar on the Titanic. Forever frozen at the moment that the ship began to sink...' Hope this helps Dominic

Or there's a break at the speeches/awards and you sit down with the other entertainers or the client for some food out the back? Switch in the glass onto the table... Nice bit of fun.. Even if you are 'busted' with it and you allow people to play with it.. It's a really cool quirky thing.. something a magician would have.. It's a magicial glass.. You took it from the house that jack built.. what's not to like?

This could work well as a casual moment during a routine . Either you can pour the drink full once the effect's done , when the drink's full , the spectator probably won't try it out since it will spill ~ Since they examined the glass before , it should be concluded that , the glass is completely normal ...
Anyway another performance here ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebJyT0FFnYc&feature=youtu.be .

If you do weddings, there's that moment when the photograther is taking pictures at the top table and asks for one with the magician. Have the glass on the table in the shot. The clients will be showing that photo to everyone and it's likely to go on their facebook wall.. If you are feeling brave and don't mind losing one every now and then, you could easily load that glass onto the top table when you arrive, before guests sit down.

Right , I'm sold to this . For this price it's worth it for what it does . Creating a magical moment in a photo is a good idea , it adds another moment of mystery even in the photo you took . A magician is supposed to create mysteries anywhere isn't it ~
I might leave it on a table if the crowd isn't too large ... I'm quite sure my luck isn't good , it will go missing in a large crowd for sure . And some lucky guy will find himself drinking from a 25 dollar glass ~

Will the glass pass a visual inspection? I understand that a spectator might be able to balance the glass, but if they just visually inspect the bottom of the glass, will it look normal? thanks.

Re: smacks183 - I think it's fair to say anyone inspecting the glass will quickly understand how the glass is able to do what it does.
Some think Houdini used trap doors in his act, but he was just going through a stage.

Seeing the nature of this effect I won't be doing this as a single effect on its on close up , it just draws too much attention and the spectators will want to check out the glass . I'll be doing it as a casual piece and just let it add on to the fact that I can create " magic " any time ~ or I will use this to get people's attention before my routine starts ~
