Hi Jheff, kudos on being a special guest. I look forward to your emails and you'll never know how many times I wanted to push the 'buy' button. And thanks for your review of my book.
Now my question: Lately there seems to be a proliferation of book tests. Why do you think this is? Is it due to the ease of POD and everyone feeling they can make the best one out there? In your opinion what is the best book test, and if you were to produce your own what would it be?

Thanks for your kind words about my newsletters.
You pretty much answered the first part of your question yourself. Since it is now very easy to make one's own book test (thanks Lulu!), people are making their own. I will just say that it is quite discouraging to see that many of the new book tests seem to be created by people who don't read books. I say that because the interior design does not look any professionally produced book. And it's even more disappointing because they can simply go to a local library, take a current book and use it as a template. As to the best book test, let's just say that there is a reason it's called THE MOTHER OF ALL BOOK TESTS. But there are other book tests that are just good and do other things: Larry Becker and Lee Earle's DOUBLE VISION, Vincent Hedan's BABEL, and Devin Knight's DOUBLE COINCIDENCE are three that I enjoy using. And, of course, it's no secret that I close my parlour/club act with Docc Hilford's THE WIZARDS MANUAL. As to producing my own, there used to be a book test that I really enjoyed using and had my own variation on it. It's no longer being produced, so I may do my own version of that... when I get around to it. I'm in no hurry. - Jheff
