This looks good. As long as the gimmick is nice quality, and I believe from earlier posts that it is. I think I will be getting this. Reminds me of the bold coin vanish in PH Water Trap.
Thanks guys! |

For those in the UK it is no use buying this because of the gimmick. However, if you purchase the copper-silver 10p / 2p coin this works a treat. Again this is another effect where penguin could easily supply the download only sale because the various gimmicks are available worldwide, according to country.

On Sep 4, 2015, pegasus wrote: Hi pegasus, You have a good point there however,... I suppose there are a few reasons for the gimmick being sold only in the US version. But I could be wrong... One is that an estimated 50% of the world's magic is sold to customers in the US. Second, there is no Co***r-Si***r coin being sold for the common US pocket change. You have to have the Scotch&Soda set and discard the sh**l. I was told there is a chance of getting other currencies "in the game", if the trick is successful though. Fingers crossed If you do magic with coins, it is wise to have this type of gimmick in your local currency anyway AND this effect is one of the best you can do with it. All the best Aljaz |

LOVE the idea. It's like the Impression card effect but done with coins. Reasonably priced too. It's a good buy!

Can someone please tell me if I am confused or received the wrong thing.
I ordered this from Penguin Magic and received a regular penny and nothing else. No instructions, and certainly not what is needed to perform this trick. I buy from Penguin all the time and never have a problem but I am scratching my head here. Joe |

Hi Joe,
I am pretty sure you received a d***/pe*** gimmick that is normally used in a Scotch and Soda set. There should also be a plastic ring in the package. I answered a very similar question in the private forum for Coin On Call on PenguinMagic, where I explain how to "unlock" the gimmick. I hope this helps. All the best Aljaz |

I have known Aljaz for long and this effect really worth it. Easy to learn, pack small, play big, you end up having a magical memory (picture) in your spectator's phone - GREAT!

Dear all,
I recently discovered that Roy Kueppers has been producing and selling "Con On Call" coins. You can see the ad on his front page here: http://roykueppers.com/ As Roy states in the ad, his Utimate C/S gaff was used in the demo video for Coin On Call (I was not aware) and is far supperior to the gimmick provided by Penguin with the purchase of COC. Jeff Prace had this gimmick made for $50 but it is now available for only $15! To anyone who had/has issues with the quality of the standard Scotch and Soda gimmick, or anyone wanting to perform COC routinly, this seems like a real bargain to me. P.S. I have it on good authority that the Ultimate C/S gaff is soon to be available for purchase through Penguin as well. All the best Aljaž Šon |

Hi everyone,
I have a quite a few things to share today, but I want to make it as short as possible so here it goes... First off, a couple of very cool presentational ideas from Thomas DeSisto (a customer of Coin On Call from the private forum on Penguin): - his first idea changes the effect from a double transformation to a teleportation - the second idea ads an interesting "lead-in" into another comercially available effect, which leaves the spectator with yet another souvenir! Here are his words: "Hi Aljaz, I love coin on call! After taking the picture I tell them a story about the jealous dime. I place dime/penny on their hand, dime up, and tell them one of the reasons the dime is jealous of a penny is because the penny is larger. I then put the penny shell over the dime and tell them to make a fist. Then I tell him that this particular dime is very jealous because we took a picture of a penny. Then I tell them to put the coins on the phone and the dime is gone. When they ask where is the dime? I tell them it's in the phone" He also added this yesterday: "I recently tried this with great results. After I tell them that the dime is in the phone. I then pretend the dime is speaking to me . What's that I say, what do you mean the dime is cheap? I then turn to the spectators and tell them, the dime is telling me that I can break the penny, impossible. I then break the penny in pieces (using Uday Jaguar Break penny) I hand the penny to the spectator and I now leave them with another souvenir I hope you like this. And thank you again for Coin on Call.... Thomas Desisto" There was also another nice idea worth mentioning, by a customer I know only by Lanardj40. The idea is to start with Coin On Call to lead into Extreme Burn 2.0 by Richard Sanders. From a presentational point of view, I find this quite intriguing, since with COC, you show your generosity, albeit small, when you let them keep the changed coin. But then with EB2.0 you would change 5 $1 bills to 5 $100 bills and offer one of the bills to be examined. Reference back to their penny and how you changed it to a dime AND let them keep it. Ideally they should ask you, if they can keep the hundred dollar bill they are examining and that is when you would make a joke/lesson to not be too greedy in life and take back the bill from them. Personally, I don't have this kind of cheeky character as a performer, but hopefully someone might get some use out of it. The last thing I have to share with you today, are 5 pictures from spectators phones, which were all made by Ben Salinas while performing COC. He has graciously allowed me to share them with you here. https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xa......56B81AFD https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xa......56F23536 https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xf......56B15BFB https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xp......56BA2549 https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xf......56ACF294 I just wanted to add, that these pictures prove you can perform my routine for several people (not just one as some reviews on Penguin state) in many different social situations. Ben has a very nice way of using COC to get his name and magic passed on to hundreds of new potential clients every day! He shares this in his review of Coin On Call, which should be live tomorrow. So keep an eye out for it there. Or maybe he will share it here as well. Who knows That is it for today. Thank you Thomas DeSisto, Lanardj40 and of course Ben Salinas. All the best |

If anyone is interested, Penguine asked Gregory Wilson to play with some altenative handlings and ideas...what they call "Plussing". He and I got together and came up with a number of things, including an additional pahse you can ad to the original routine to end very cleanly, as well as a couple of different premises that include the brilliant photo-taking element of the original, but that don't require switches to clean up. It's being filmed this week...not sure when Penguin will make it availabe.
I love the idea and it was a kick to play with it. Kudos for the concept, Aljaz! |
