Can you believe it? Since August 2011 I have now produced 250 podcasts...and counting. That's more than one podcast a week. Well, leading up to this historic podcast last week we featured the legendary Tom Mullica. This week we talk with another legend in magic, Norm Nielsen. Norm's lovely wife, Lupe, invited me to their home following the MAGIC Live! convention in Las Vegas recently. We talked about their poster collection that they have amassed over the past decades and the disposition of a large portion of it over the next two years through Potter & Potter Auctions. Norm also talks about how he met Okito and how he and Lupe got into woodworking. He also talks about his performance in the Al Pacino movie, "Bobby Deerfield" plus working at the Crazy Horse in Paris, France. Along the way he drops names of famous magicians he has known and worked with on television and stage.
As we went into their woodworking workshop, David Sandy told us a funny tale about another legendary magician whom he knew quite well: Faucett Ross. The story is about his dying wish to be buried with his cat which, uh, well, didn't go according to plan. You can see a video of Norm performing, see some photos of his poster collection, read the blog, listen online, and download the MP3 file at: http://themagicwordpodcast.com/scottwell......-nielsen
