John: So, what's the best way to get there?
Andy: Pardon me? To get where? John: I'm not sure yet. Andy: Then, I'm not sure which way is best. ---- The question is a little bit amorphous, don't you think? With that said, in The Secrets of Brother John Hamman, Richard Kaufman describes an idea called "The Faked Deck." Brother Hamman thought that is was odd to take out a packet trick and perform it. He felt that everyone in the room would suspect trick cards--and they'd be right. Instead, Hamman came up with a simple idea. He combined six tricks using gimmicked cards to make a single deck. (Which tricks should you use? Read the Hamman book to see how he put his deck together.) Hamman also had a nice deck switching strategy that's worth your attention. With a little bit of creativity, you could use this idea to put together your own custom deck. Or not. Still, the idea is worthy of some consideration.

It may be either with the same faces or completely new ones, but in same graphic style. Could you please explain why it is important? Do you mean tricks with two decks? Quote:

I'm not sure I get this. Is it a deck with a bunch of different types of gaffed cards?

We try to find out what design details are important for magicians in existing decks (what are often used, most wanted, personally liked or rare). E.g. elements or examples of the back and face design, most used kinds of gaff cards etc. |
