Thanks Riley and Bill, appreciate the kind comments on my "FlySki" here.
It's the one I do most whenever I happen to do a 3 Fly. As to ending clean, well, it can be a bit over-rated IMHO. It's an easy-enough work-around doing it as I did above gaffless…If you condition the specs (as I did via my clean & open shows of my hands) to see just 3 coins and accept that as fact, then as you see me finish, there's no need to ditch anything. But if you wanted to, all you would have to do is let them examine the coins as you go to your pocket for the next trick, perhaps a card trick. Here's another one of my takes on this…Actually the shortened take above here I do most "FlySki," came from a longer version…Toldy'ya, I played around a lot with this. *Hey, and those old, worn silver dollars are the ones that my Grandpa gave me long, long ago.

Marion,
I really like your ending. I think the 3 Fly needs some type of a change up at the end. |

Marion, very nice routine! I really like the slow tempo. Extremely "fair." It's amazing how one premise can have so many interpretations; sort of like different bands performing awesome variations of the same song. It's easy to see that you've put in some quality flight time with the routine.
One of my favorite magical ideas of all time was when Kenner stated that 3-Fly is a simple routine to be learned, but one can spend a lifetime mastering it. The older I get the more I focus on fewer routines to master. Three Fly will definitely stay on the short list. |

Marion,
I also like your presentation. The trick means more than just three coins going from hand to hand. Your use of the Sylvester Pitch also inspired me to go back and revise my routine. |

Hey thanks guys, glad you like the bit of an evolution with 3 Fly that I went through. Found a lot of neat stuff on the journey and tried a little of this & that to spice it up. The routines I show you here seemed to work well for me.
But as I continued on, I did "FlySki" much more often, mostly because it was shorter and less demanding, and more quickly done as I love to move about when I do magic. And MJ, I think you're going the right way…I too came to the conclusion that less is more, so I only do a few coin tricks nowadays. I can do a lot but prefer to have spent my greater time perfecting the things I like to do most. In that, they have become quite flawless for me to perform on the spot - on the go! Nowadays, maybe 3-4 coin effects I most regularly do, and the rest of the time in practice I just play with smoothing out moves, thinking of new approaches, etc. "FlySki" is indeed on my shortlist, along with just a few others which include things I've done and offered as downloads like, "ReVisiTed," "KrazyKoinZ Across," and a little of my "Ike & Mike's Revenge" 2 coin play. I like doing these group of coin effects because they have just about everything I learned in them from the journey of it all. They are a little bit of everything as to SOH coin magic. And focusing exclusively on them have made them routine wonder wheels for me. I've come up with a few other things, like my latest, Double Trouble offering. And who knows, as my "less is more" thinking greatness here, these may also find their way someday switched on to this special train, down this next stretch of one heckuva journey. My "Down The Rabbit Hole" is another one that might more frequently make the trip someday. We'll see, as there are only 3-4 seats ever available nowadays. Again, thanks for the kind remarks here DC and MJ…Much appreciated. Happy New Year!

Marion,
I think that coin magic is very challenging in the quest to find routines that are simple yet deceptive. I agree that time is better spent perfecting a few tricks than trying to learn a bunch. 3 Fly is a puzzle I've been working on for ages, keep trying to find the solution. |

Darrin, it's been a struggle here not to build a Copenetro into a book ... and I still feel drawn to the coin stand prop. Robert-Houdin seemed to manage just fine with his glass casket prop. Kainoa suggested a right/left arm crossing bit for the middle. Brian Platt has that great coin gaff which can help with that last vanish... but still ... well I feel there's been some progress since the second phase (the across) of the billiard routine in Downs book. Let's see what 2016 brings.

Reviving this thread...
I have been studying Kenner's "Menage et Trois" (along with Fingertips Coins Across by Jonathan Townshend in Genii Magazine, Daryl Easton, and Troy Hooser). Kenner and Daryl both use a similar false transfer sleight, but Kenner's is quicker and draws less spectator attention. I've been looking for a video performance by Chris performing "Menage et Trois" so I can get a better idea of his handling, and I came across an impromptu performance a couple weeks ago, but cannot locate it now. Does anyone have a link to Chris performing his routine (I'm not interested in performances by others...I've seen those)? |

Chris’ clean-up handling after the last vanish isn’t covered in Mirage et Trois, where he offers options, but not what’s performed in this video.
Is it published? If so, where? |

Now, I know why Kohler and Mason came up with gaffed versions. |

For the tee shirt condition:
get a Platt Blackout coin. <— John Mendoza suggestion. Rannie went with the ‘wear a jacket’ approach and has a direct, no-touch, routine that looks great. Folks might want to take the hints and learn some billiard ball magic to broaden their perspectives on available methods in magic.
