Titanas Magic does tend to put out some great stuff.
Here's the info: Trailer: https://vimeo.com/140420175 ROCK, PAPER, LIES. A classic Rock, Paper, Scissors game... gone mental! The mentalist turns around while two spectators are playing rock, paper, scissors (or even an imaginary game), NO WAY he could know who won and what symbols were played, and yet using their body language he can reveal everything! Rock, Paper, Lies is a rock, paper, scissors game where you will not only be able to guess who is the winner, but also which symbol they played with and who is lying and who is telling the truth. Jay Di Biase gave a new life to a well known method creating a mind blowing, propless mentalism routine. NO PEEKS NO PRESHOW NO DUAL REALITY NO INSTANT STOOGE COMPLETELY PROPLESS PERFORM ANYTIME/ANYWHERE PLUS SOME GREAT BONUS EFFECTS FROM ANTONIO CACACE Merchant of Magic have this shipping from the UK here: http://www.magicshop.co.uk/product_info.......d=146808 Hope this helps Dominic

It's ok. If you already know the principle you'll know what is going on here. Barrie Richardson has the best version of the lie/truth plot IMHO. This is interesting for anyone who doesn't already know the principle or can't think how to apply it to a RPS presentation themselves. Given Osterlind's endorsement I expect the dealers to be hyping this like crazy.

Thanks for the info Dominic.
I'm not familiar with barrie Richardsons version. I have a couple of his books do will have a look for it. I can see why dealers would jump on it, 2 very good endorsements... |

As a mentalist you must always ask yourself what if! And throughout your life you should seek to ask and answer this question over and over again, only then will your wildest dreams become a reality!

Hi guys, unfortunately Jay Di Biase is not on the cafè yet. He asked me to answer to the last question for him. Yes rock, paper, lies can be performed anytime/anywhere. There is a small and easy system to memorize but it's so easy that you will have it in your mind after 15 minutes practice. Included in the dvd you will find also some pdfs with some artworks to print for stage performances and a cheat sheet in case you do not feel comfortable memorizing the system, the cheat sheet will allow you to read the system right under their eyes while performing without them seeing anything. Hope this answer your question and please feel free to ask anything! Jay Di Biase.

I bought it. I like it. A wonderful little anytime anywhere A-prop effect. The only other comment I have is that Jay is a little hard to understand (words are not clearly enunciated). But that is minor and easily overcome. Gets a buy recommendation from me.

It sounds intriguing. I've always liked these liar logic problems. Like Charles Cameron's Saint or Devil or Banachek's Ring of Truth. But for me they never were more than what they are - clever logic puzzles. Entertaining? Yes, but surely not mind reading effects. Even as a lie detection demonstration they have their flaws. In my humble opinion these effects fall into the look-how-clever-I-am category of tricks. Which is not a bad thing per se.
So I wonder, is the method in Rock Paper Lies so well concealed that it appears to be more than "just" a logic puzzle? |

From Jay Di Biase: Hi guys, thank you for your interest in Rock, Paper, Lies. Jaizon thank you for the support! As you said the method is well hidden and there is no way they could get to the solution even if they know the old riddle as Meng was talking about! I have performed it for people that have heard about that riddle and still they had no clue. Listen to the words of Luca Volpe in the trailer and read the quote that Mr Osterlind wrote for the dvd, I have performed Rock, Paper, Lies for him and his wife Lisa in Italy and he was speechless even if he knew that old riddle! This is an effect that you will do just like I am doing it all the time and everywhere with no "get ready" whatsoever. Hugs from Italy guys! Jay Di Biase
P.s. Sorry for my accent Jaizon, I am italian and you can hear it! Will do better on my next project! |

As I love rps effects I thought I'd take a gamble on this. glad I did, it does exactly what it says on the tin.Yes it is a logic puzzle and yes if you have a particularly analytical thinker there is a chance that they may figure out the logic. That said, as logic puzzles go this does a better job of hiding the logic than ring of truth or truth to tell because the reveal is further from the actual logic puzzle and unlike which hand which is a 50/50 there are seemingly many ways a game of RPS can play out (actually there are only 9, and only 6 if you remove the draw but people generally think there are more).
From 3 fairly innocent questions you know who is lying or telling the truth, who won the game and what each person threw. Considering either one can tell the truth or lie, or both could be telling the truth or both lying, and the many different ways the game could have played out, the logic is far from obvious. Whilst the effect is easy to perform I would not say that it is easy to backtrack. however if you present it as a logic puzzle then you aren't going to get the best from it. It's very easy to hide the critical moment from all but the most analytical thinkers. This is a great anytime anywhere propless effect and if you have already established some credibility this will play pretty strong. Mark |

I think this is good. Easy to learn and the method is very well hidden. I've used this loads since learning it.
