I heard on an interview with criss angel that he was thinking of challenging blaine to a stunt-off. Is this true? If so when

It seems pretty corny in my opinion. I hope it doesn't happen. I think it makes Criss Angel look bad. It's like he feels inferior to Blaine so he has to prove something to himself by proving something to the world.

I don't agree , I would love to see criss beat blaine and hope it goes ahead! It would be a great way of making David feel less of himself.

best regards tom

These "such and such" vs. "so and so" challenges are a waste of time. There was at one time a "Doug Henning" vs. "David Copperfield" debate going on in magic societies. It was nonsense. Their styles were poles apart. So are Criss Angel's and David Blaine's.

Criss is jealous because he has thousands of dollars worth of props, lots of assistants and can't get a "real" TV special on a regular network. He has to settle for being over on the Sci-Fi channel. Blaine takes less than $1000 worth of props and gets a bunch of specials.

I don't know of Chris Angel, but if he is jealous of David Blaine, he must be really bad.

They are actually both good magicians in their own rights. Getting caught up in something so juvenille is a waste of time. Everyones true challenge should be themselves. Giving such negative attention to another's skills only blinds us to our own lack and our own potential.

Very well put. There are very good reasons that Criss Angel has not made it onto the networks. There are good reasons that Blaine has.

Personally, I think that Criss Angel is his own worst enemy. But then again, that is true of most of us.

He's really not a bad magician. He has some good ideas and some clever plot lines, but they aren't as original as one might think. He draws profusely from Heironymus Bosch, but that is IMHO a bit heady for the average audience. So he ends up on the Sci-Fi channel.

Blaine appeals to a more down-to-earth audience.

It is not easy to learn how to communicate with a wide range of people. It took me a long time to learn. Even now, there are still items and lines in my act that are for the two percent who will get them, but I don't wait for laughs when I do them. I just do them and move on. If they get a laugh, I know that "my people" are out there.

The idea of a stunt off or a challenge between two magicians is interesting. have their ever actually been any challenge performances between two magicians? Their are some wonderful possibilities that could open up if two magicians were to go head to head. and it would be nothing but good publicity for both.

Who do you think would win at the stunt off?

That's a tough one. They both claim they would DIE before they let the other win, and in any situation the stunt will be regulated and monitored. So I guess it would come down to Who comes closer to dying first. So I think it's a toss up.

You know what would be even more impressive than a "Stunt Off" in my opinion??

To see these two men shake hands and show support for one another as to set an example to other Magicians. We don't have to hate one another. BUT, as the saying goes; "Men fear what they don't understand, HATE what they can't conquer".

It's people's jealosy and hate that disgusts me about any and all forms of entertainment. We aren't Peers anymore because we share the same Talent or Occupation.....WE'RE ENEMIES!!!!

Well, here's an inside:
Angel VS. Blain, oh!" they hate each other sooo much"

Battle through magic? come on!
-what's that supposed to be?

Guys, it's just a commercial gimmic ($$$$$$$),
these guys are actually best friends, and they are probably sitting on the beach in Maui, drinking Margaritas and playing Bridge.
Jack.

And by the way:
If Criss Angel wants to look like satan, why does call himself Angel?
- Go and play bass in a satanic band or something!

He said this when someone asked that question; "don't I look like an angel?"

and they are probably sitting on the beach in Maui, drinking Margaritas and playing Bridge.

I wouldn't trust them playing cards!

I hope he doesn't challenge blaine in card magic, otherwise he'll get smacked... angel should stick with his illusions... although blaine isn't the most skilled out there with cards, I think he is still much better than angel. And he gets all the nice chicks..

Here's the entire article regarding the feud between Criss (not Chris) Angel and Blaine. Criss seems peeved that Blaine won't accept his challenge.

The article is dated October 30, 2003 by Kate O'Hare.

If the link doesn't work, try copying the whole link (including the white numbers and %, not just the yellow link) and pasting it into a new window. That should take you to the page.

I wonder if perhaps Blaine is in on this. Who knows, maybe the two are actually "friends" and figured out that this is like Mr. T. challenging Rocky for the title.

Angel is just trying to steal some of bLaine's publicity and fame.
At least that's my opinion.
