I have a question about the zensational feature of the aronson stack. Given a poker hand and table position I can calculate the aronson number of the bottom card easy enough, but what is the best "gambit" to cut to the correct position without "futsing" around looking at the face of the deck. I've never seen this effect performed I've only read about it in aronson's "Bound to Please"

For example: If a Royal flush is called for in the dealer position I know the bottom card should be Ace of Diamonds (18). How do I cut to that point without being too obvious.

I can imagine a couple methods of doing this, but I'm not sure what is the most effective:
1) Ribbon spread face up showing the cards are in random order, then request the hand and position, the "eyeball" by target card as I gather up the cards.

or 2) Estimate a cut - lets cut a third down, if the bottom card is the 5 of Spades (20), then move two card to the top.

Both these methods (to me) seem suspect, does false cuts and false shuffles cover this manipulation?

Thanks in advance.
