Hello everyone,
Once again, I recently discovered an interesting use for the Aronson Stack. As far as I know, no one has found this before. It uses “The Infamous Non-Working, Self-Working Card Trick” by Sid Fleischman from The Charlatan's Handbook which Steven Youell adapted in his lecture notes WMD - Weapons of Mass Destruction on page 16: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......&forum=2 on Mar 19, 2009 As Steve points out, there's a small setup that's made even more trivial with the Aronson Stack. What we need is two pairs of opposite twins. In my case I'll use the pairs AS cards 7&8 and 39&40: 3H&6C with 6H&3C (as far I know the only other pair I found is AS cards 4&5 and 41&42: 2H&9S with 2S&9H) Here's how I do it: My deck is trimmed with four corner shorts. I riffle the deck in my LH to the 9D with a corner short in the upper LH (& lower RH) corner to bring the JS to the top. Thumb or pinky counting to the 9th card, double cut this packet to the bottom. Pocket the palmed two bottom cards 3H&6C (when returning the case to the pocket or however else you wish; Steve suggests this is done in advance of your performance and using separate pockets). Now I cut with my RH to the the lower LH (& upper RH) shorted corner of the 6H/3C pair, and I'm ready. I've just worked this up after being in the hospital for 3 weeks and have yet to try it out as I can't even leave the house. Let me know what you think about the handling or if you find other pairs. Cheers Larry |

There's (at least) one more combo, and I think the following is by far the most comfortable one: 32&33 and 35&36: 10D&JC and 10C&JD.

For any Mnemonica fellows interested, I immediately thought of the 18&19 (KC, 2D), 26&27 (KD, 2C) pairing, which is easy to get to. I'm sure there's more combos as well in that stack.
