I am so sad I cannot speak. This is just too much. I was just thinking about him and one of his effects a few days ago. I spoke with him over the years and he was always kind, gentle and very giving. He would do anything to help you out.
I'm very sad. Greg

I just recently purchased his dvds and watched them for the first time. Wonderful material. So sad he passed away. But at least he passed away surrounded by family and friends.

So sad to hear. I never had the opportunity to meet Barrie, but like so many of us, I have learned so much from his collection of works. May he rest in peace. We've lost a great one.

Terrible, terrible news. First Rich and now Barrie.
I never met Barrie, but he's responsible for sparking my interest in the art. Theater of the Mind was the first true Mentalism book I purchased, even before Corinda and Annemann. I remember learning so much from TOTM, and it inspired me to read/watch as much material as I could. As some have already mentioned, Barrie made many important contributions to the field of magic and mentalism. His legacy will live on through our performances. Rest in peace, Barrie. Thoughts and prayers to his family. -Tony |

I think everyone who has met Barrie considers him a friendhe is just that kind of a personand most of you who have enjoyed his books feel a similar bond of warmth. If you would like to send a note to his widow Janie and his children, and let them know how he and/or his work have affected you, please send it to me and I will forward it to Janie. (If you have received a similar note from Stephen Minch, you needn't reply to both of us.) Kind regards, Martin Joyal There is little more I can add to Barrie's remarkable influence on our art and his kindness to those who love it. My prayers for healing go to his family and my wish that blessings shine upon his soul as it embarks on this the next stage in its journey. |

What a sad week... First Rich and now Barrie. While I never got to meet Barrie, his influence is always present in my work and his legacy will live on with his books and videos. A big loss; may he rest in peace.
