Where is the exposure the name of it tells you the method as a magician anyway . Brett it sounds a pristine made product and the fact you can customise makes it brilliant too , well done

You can customize any sven principle pad. As Brett stated, this is not something new.

Not to mention, you don't have to be precise when you cut. I have made many of these pads and they always work. No need to be precise.

My comment was deleted too for some strange reason. No exposure at all either.

Not sure if this is something I need but I congratulate Brett for putting this on the market. It's so great when a performer takes the time and effort and goes to the expense of making a quality item (which by all accounts this is) available to others. Thank you Brett!

Oh, I'm sure Brett isn't doing this for free, lol. I don't think anyone would sell something if they weren't making a profit.

As I said, anyone can make these for much much cheaper and it will work.

I won't even think of asking what your intention with all your posts on this thread is (actually I don't care), but you have of course the right to come foreward with your opinions.

Now, would you please step back, you have made your point.

Anyone can make these. I would agree. But the pros who are making money make money and work because they don't spend their time sitting around making stuff like a preschooler. Why would any professional want to spend their time with arts and crafts?

Today my wife gave me a big light bulb. It didn't fit anything in the house. We both agree just to throw it out instead of driving back to the store and returning it or swapping it out. Why? Because we have better things and more lucrative things to do with our time. I want to learn a new guitar song and she is going to star bucks. Hahaha

Seriously the point here with sven pad is to offer it to people who can use an item like this in a paid gig! So to these folks they will gladly pay for this item.

If you want to sit around and make it even though you may not have a need for it just to prove you can make it then God bless you. You alls point is well taken. Anyone can make it. Got it.

Sorry Sven. But this is a growing problem in the industry in such that re-worked ideas being sold and hyped as "the must have" or in this case ,"a game changer'. Sorry, but this is not a game changer in mentalism.

I've not got these, in fact it was me who mentioned that this type of item was around way before the colin/paul effect was out (not got that either, and I'm sure they're not claiming to have invented it) - the custom made padgali was released nearly a decade ago by a small online shop by a uk magician called chris jones... saysold1 is aware of this, and credits him... the pads look different from one another, and I'm sure the method of the creation of the pad is different, just because tech moves on so quickly too...

these are "out there", they've been credited (by the looks of it) exhaustively! and as he's got a load of quotes from some well respected working-pros, I'm sure that says (to anyone who wants to be sensible) that the worker side of the community thinks that this is fair and above board and is more than acceptable to them...

if you wanna make your own, go for it...i do too...if you feel the price is too high, then fine, carry on making your own...or make your own and then sell them! I am willing to guess that the quality will be different...

i don't see any fuss being made when people released sven'd business cards...so, its either personal, being outraged for no reason, or people just wanna be offended for their own personal reasons...

anyone with half a brain understands how to make 'em...if you don't fancy doing it, buy something that has been professionally done...otherwise, please belt up and let people review 'em...

this is just another tool to use...

Wow. And anybody with half a brain woild understand there's nothing "game changing" about cutting a piece of paper.

I do many paid gigs and have 100% success rate with my pads and I simply use scissors.

Good! but why take so much offense/umbrage over someone else offering an alternative?

i can make my own sw**i with clay and a toothpick, doesn't mean others can't 3D print something else and offer them...

if you are annoyed or perplexed by the phrase "game changing" - I understand your point completely...

that phrase is probably a bit OTT...but hey, there's far bigger terminology used in the selling of an item than that in my view...

and there's level of finesse and quality that different people feel comfortable with...

i'm sure a old Mini is just fine to drive, but if you just happen to prefer to drive a Jaguar, then you are allowed to choose to between the two if your budget allows it...

you are coming across as a little irked by this...and again, I am with you on the phrase "game changer", probably "precision cut" or "professionally made" would have done...but overall, at least this is being fair in its crediting and openess as to what you are getting...

Just to get this thread back on track, I received my pads the other day. They are far better than anything I would have made myself and I am happy with my purchase. I ordered the smaller pads and I am considering the large size too.

That's the point, I had them in my hands and there are of course extremely well done. Point. It is a tool, get it or leave it. Certainly you can make them yourself, but they wouldn't be as good as the offered ones. You simply decide whether you would like to spend the time making them and accept a lower quality or to buy them. Your decision concerning a mere tool.

Doing arts and crafts can be very time consuming, time you could use to do better or more important things. I know by experience about what I am talking. Occasionally I spend also too much time creating certain things, but that's my personal decision in order to get something nobody else has... I made up for myself e. g. a German version of the B.I.P., it was very time consuming, working on a PC and by hand. So I am happy if I can get certain things already done and spend only time individually finishing a tool. Jan

You made my day! That means a lot.

I know I'm on solid ground when Bob, Jeff, Oz, Craig,Sven (who I named my pads after!), Ross, Eugene, Jheff; Ran and many many others have told me they are happy campers and will use these professionally.

All orders received will ship this week priority mail to the USA and first class overseas as long as I have stock on hand. I've already reordered with my supplier with more to arrive in a week but I still have a pretty good supply on hand.

WelL stated Ian. I do agree with your points. And the ad is definitely OTT. My opinion has nothing to do with the maker. I would have the comments to whoever would be making these. But there are other items that get re-released and the creators get lamb basted for it. In magic there is no standard. The standard is who you know and who you are chummy with allows one to get away with it. Its becoming laughable.

But in response to your quality remarks, I still disagree. These pads are so simple to make and even if your off a little its never noticed by the spectator and the pad still works the same.

I guess if you don't have the time to make your own these would be good.

Again though, that is your quality control - and it works for you which is great... no one is saying you are wrong or incorrect... this is just another option, that would (if we were compare side by side) a hand made version vs a pro-made, lasery "thing", then there would be a difference!

i mean, why buy business cards when you can buy some sheets of card and cut them out yourself?! why pay for online printed business cards because you can teach yourself photoshop, buy a good quality card stock and printer? its just about the levels in which we feel most comfortable - and its a mixture of time, energy, quality levels and a few other bits and pieces thrown in...

the line of logic goes on and on - why buy a g*mm*cked w*llet when you can buy a scalpel? everyone has a choice...and choices are great...

if they weren't, we wouldn't have equiv*q*e!

Well said IAIN! And then there are those who will make their own and also buy the professionaly made item because of their enjoyment of the method, trying new things, having different types on hand and coming up with ideas not thought of before and maybe even arriving to a revelation that does become a game changer.
How many magicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Regardless, for magicians darkness is a time for d'lite.

Depends on your idea of a game changer.
IT for example. I can easily buy L**ps but I found a way to make them while I watch TV. In a 1 hour show I have enough for at least 6 months. Saves me a TON of money and an hassle of ordering them. With no difference to a spectator, that to me, is a game changer!
If you can save time and resources buy getting a device you use. It's a game changer.
Look at a marked deck. You could spend an hour or two marking a deck... or simply buy one.
When people share resources that is helping the industry not hurting it.
