Hey guys! I've recently got an 3D Giant Bunny and I was thinking to ask you about, what's your favorite way to produce him?
Just wondering Thanks!

A "bunch" of silks. The late Tony Marks killed the magicians at a national convention. It was the in the closing routine for years.
The late Jack Pyle, too, closed with a "giant" rabbit. Harry Blackstone Senior produced a baby goat from a foulard. Richard Hughes can provide you with the necessary.

Tony was playing a night club We had never met, but I knew of him from DORNY. I caught his act. Great! The production was great, but his follow up even topped the production! It was an "Asrah" levi ('zombi'). When that rabbit "went south", the show was over! I went backstage, met Tony, and, we went out for a two AM breakfast. It lasted a couple hours! A delightful memory!

Hi Dick
Yes, I saw him do the "Asrah" with the Jumbo Bunny, too. The very complete details are in his book. 'Interesting factoid is the that I'm not aware of anyone else who ever presented anything on this scale...that was one big rabbit! Julie |

There's also the "little grey hair/hare" line as you produce a grey bunny.

Walter Blaney used a Flemish Giant rabbit in his "Instant Texas" Act. He also produced the rabbit from a paper bag that he showed empty. He was able to do this close-up and surrounded.

I remember the late Jerry Conklin producing a monsterous rabbit. He produced a hat coil from a paper tambourine. He then reached into the mass of paper and produced the rabbit.

Jerry closed his school show with that, on his last tour before Shirley died.
Jerry had been doing his school show *40 miling) around Colon. He worked it alone, and was doing it the "old" way. (Every prop in a little cloth bag, etc.) It took him 15-20 minutes to set up. I played a town near him, and, he saw my 4 minute set up! He invited me over for dinner, and, Shirley said, "Don't get a motel. We have room!" So, we spent the evening, reorganizing Jerry's props. A year of so later, when he and Shirley had quit booking the evening illusion show, he waned to do a bureau tour. I got him "introduced" to Betty Carlson, and she booked a tour for them. Jerry and I discussed the tour, and we re routined the program, so he could set in 4-5 minutes! I think Shirley liked THAT even more than Jerry! I told the whole story in the book! 1

Dick,
I wouldn't be surprised if I learned to setup quickly from you. I knew that I had to learn how, because sometimes I had back to back shows booked in the same venue. |
