Home owner or renters insurance?

This is a shame especially since I saw unauthorized copies of Kolassal Killer posted for free on a website for free last week just when Mr. Knepper could use the revenue stream. Makes you think twice about unethically obtaining material on the web, doesn't it?

I do not want to sound or come off like I am a horrible person but why does he not have insurance to cover his losses?
All states offer Home Owners Insurance or Renters Insurance. It sounds to me like he rented a place and Renter's Insurance is very inexpensive. Yes he might have a $ 500.00 or a $ 1000.00 deductible and he might not have the extra cash for that but I would like to know if he had insurance or not before I send any money to him. And other ought to feel the same way. Does he or does he not have insurance. If he does not have insurance then I cannot help that person out because they were not diligent with their finances. If he owned a home it is Mandatory to have Home Owners Insurance so that is why I think he rents. And like I stated you can get Renter's Insurance for less than $ 200.00 a year even in California. Rodney P.S. I will help out if/when I get the whole story.

63% of the country does not have renter's insurance.
Sure it is not very expensive, but when your budget is limited and you have to decide medicine, food, or heat this month, the thought of renter's insurance does not always come to mind, I'm not saying Kenton falls into this situation, but many do, I have. So let's not pass judgement and say, he should have had this... Tony Iacoviello |

It's a terrible thing to have one's home broken into. I've had that a few times. However, a good lesson is to get yourself prepared for the future:
1. Set up an emergency fund. $1000 to start. 2. Get rid of all credit card debt and never carry a balance again, ever. 3. Build up your emergency fund to 3-6 months of living expenses. 4. Start investing. All of this can be done on any income. Income level is no excuse. However much or little you make, your expenses should be in line with your income. If you make $100 per week, set aside $15 per week. |
