6 mm X 0.5 I think.

Just to follow up on my earlier post, the error was mine, made during construction. Yesterday we had family in, and one of our traditions is to do a "Christmas craft". I did mine quickly and moved on to my next craft but kept the volume on the DVD low, so a piece of tape that should have been oriented one way was oriented another. Gimmick looks and works great, though a little noisy (I understand some have made modifications to this). I wouldn't likely do it in a perfectly quiet room, but other than that I think it is not an issue.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Its a shame you need to make up the gimmick as I am terrible at arts & craft stuff...........

I haven't made up my gimmick yet but I plan to craft a presentation with a blue card changing into red card like a hot meteor entering into the atmosphere with blue being hotter than red. If it makes a noise I can spin something about the sound barrier...

I am having troubles figuring out how to use this... I don't seem to come up with a decent idea...
I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death my right to say "scr*w you" if you persist. [Voltaire ]

No live performances, no routines taught, just here's how to make the gimmick, how it works and some concepts. What's surprising is they show snippets of Nicholas performing this live, but didn't include any full performances. It's funny because these are the types of things they take off points for on WPR reviews, yet so many WMS releases have the same issues. That aside, this is fantastic. I made up the main gimmick, it worked, but then made up a few more versions a bit differently to take care of some of the noise / thickness issues. |

Finally watched the dvd. Nicholas makes the construction look easy but I guarantee it's an all out trial and error headache for most people. I'd pay double the price if this came with a couple of already made up gimmicks. Any takers?

I have a bunch of tiny magnets in my arts and crafts drawer that I had bought for constructing magic gimmicks. I had some that were nearly identical in size/strength.
I'm trying to track down my email order to see which one I got specifically (I bought a bunch of different sizes), but I believe I had bought them from www.kjmagnetics.com |

This arrived today and I am already dreading the construction.
Is it really difficult? |

Actually, not positive this is it, but I think it may be these, which are a very close equivalent:

I agree. I've sat here trying to make a gimmick as instructed in the DVD, but I'm not having much luck. Just having to walk away for a bit. I don't smoke, but if I did, this when I would. I'd pay a little more to just have a version that came with a couple gimmicks pre-made. I appreciate the detail in how to make it, but I'd rather just receive it already made and instead have full performances on the DVD. Now I'm having to practice making a gimmick before I can practice using it.

Anyone think repositionable glue could be used instead of all that thick tape?

Much easier to position and is much thinner.

One thing is for sure, if you don't already know how to s---t c---s, getting this up and running will give you a good new skill.

I would suggest ebay for magnets. A lot cheaper... http://www.ebay.com/itm/100pcs-N35-3mm-x......~bFWHeYY
They are Chinese made and if you have suck one up with the stack and the velocity is too high they WILL break.. But I find that with most of these thin magnets. |

Used Scotch Spray Mount repositionable adhesive for all but the m*****s. Seemed to work great. Thinner and easier. Only made one gimmick with it.
It took a lot out of me for a 3 second effect!! I am going to stick with it for awhile as it is a great visual 3 seconds. Also thinking of ditching gimmick using the m*****s since they are there anyway. |
