I'm going to my first convention, Magic Live, in Phoenix on the 13th, what will it be like as far as the way things are broken up?
It's from 10am to 4pm. Do they usually have a lecture followed by a break and then another lecture? Are items for sale only following each lecture or throughout the whole day? Will we have a lunch break? ![]() Thanks! |

I think you are referring to the Penguin Live Magic Expo. If it is the same as the one I went to in Seattle there will be half a dozen dealers selling through the day and each dealer puts on a demonstration rather than a lecture every hour or so. The other dealers are open the entire time. There is no official lunch break but you can leave for lunch and return whenever you want.

Like Ed said, it's a dealer showcase. The best thing though is that the dealers really tip their mitts as to the effects they are selling. You will see the actual workings of the effects, so you will be better able to determine if what you might buy you will actually use. I attended the one in September in Charlotte, NC and had a great time.
FWIW
