I have a dream to start a collaboration with some of the best minds in magic and mentalism, with one goal: to help the needy. For a significant portion of my life, I have performed pro-bono for hospitals and other organizations.
Any advice for me how I may be able to now partner with other like-minded professionals to broaden the collective impact? In the spirit of magic, Kevin |

Hi Kevin. I laud your aims, but I don't think this is the place to further them. You need to find guys local to you who share your goals. You should try your local magic club. Network and find the guys. Unless you aim to start a nationwide or worldwide movement? If you do, tell us more.
Best of luck.

Doesn't David Copperfield have something like this going? I have no idea whether he's open to other magicians, but it's probably worth a look.

Magicians get involved with the occupational and physical therapy departments at a local hospital, teaching simple magic tricks to patients as part of their therapy. Learning a trick gives the patient a goal and takes the focus off the tedious repetition often involved in therapy. I tried to start a branch at a hospital near me but the idea got tied up in administrative red ink and never went anywhere. |

I've heard of a magician a while back that taught homeless a few tricks to get them to busk instead of beg...can't remember details or results
