In the book, The Magic of Michael Ammar, he describes - in his Stand-Up Cups and Balls Routine - I'm having trouble visualizing the production of the 1st ball, which he describes as "a reverse of David Williamson's Striking Vanish." There is an illustration of part of the move in the book. But I'm still not really understanding how it should look start-to-finish. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting a look at this move?

Thanks.

There is nothing better than watching the man himself do his routine.

Ken,
Thanks for asking the question. I would not have known about the routine if you didn't post. I like the idea of producing the balls at the beginning of the routine. Looks a lot more magical.

Mobius,
Thanks for providing the link. That is a different routine than on Ammar's C&B videos. Definitely worth a bookmark.

Thanks Mobius. Unfortunately, he doesn't do that particular production in this video (which I have seen about 50 times already:)). Instead, he does the rub at the end of the wand (described in his "Complete Cups and Balls). This routine is identical to the one in the Magic of Michael Ammar book but for 2 things: 1. The first production (the thing I actually want to see), and 2: the part with only 2 cups left where one ball jumps to the other cup. I actually like the thing he does in the video better than what he describes in the book, which shows an empty right cup and 2 in the left.

Any other possibilities?

And Harry - you're welcome:).

Cheers!

Give the Greater Magic Video Library DVD on Cups and Balls a try. That is vintage Ammar. If you'd like more of his early material, there is also a separate GMVL DVD that is just him. It also includes the Cups and Balls.
