Hello!
My name is Daniel, I am a juggler and circus performer from the Netherlands, currently living in Toulouse! Magic has interested me for a long time, I enjoy magic performances and of course trying to figure out/looking up how tricks are done. I find it hard to practise and perform tricks myself. It feels strange not to share the truth about my craft with my audience, which is what I am used to do with juggling. Also I enjoy tricks, but for an audience you need routines... With the talk, the combinations, the gags, and that is not my speciality yet! However, I'd love to learn, and hope that one day I could perhaps present an original 5 minute stage act or so. This summer I'll be collaborating with a juggler/magician friend on a circus act, I will be singing while he is performing magic. Probably I wont do any of the tricks myself, but I am already excited and find myself doing most of our research! This forum has caught my eyes a couple of times, since it has also had some interesting juggling threads. Hopefully I can also contribute to those in the future |

Welcome DanielSimu,
Maybe you would feel more comfortable performing Magic to Music as your friend is doing. When you consider performing Magic, what kinds attract you? -Mary Mowder |

Indeed Mary, performing to music sounds great to me! However, a talking routine can fill 5 minutes with one effect, I imagine a routine on music will require a lot more.. And thus more to learn for me
What I'd consider performing? Good question, I never thought about that much! I like especially visual and ridiculous stuff, such as multiplying bottles with 100 bottles, or the falling props from Topper Martyn. Also I like the fights against your props like for example Yann Frisch does. AH, and not unimportantly: Performances that don't have a big financial investment... That kinda goes against many of the big visual stuff I am afraid.. Hmm, I'll have to think about that a bit more |
