Dear magicman222,
There is no material published specifically pertaining to chain escapes for the lower limbs. You will find that several patterns that work on the arms (such as in Novak's 'Selected Chain Escapes') will also work on the ankles. It has been suggested that you can use a siberian chain escape on the ankles. You can - but it is somewhat awkward. Similarly, any figure of eight configuration will work if you are flexible but this is tricky. The Novak resource contains some escapes which start on the torso and wind up around the legs but I do not believe there is a stand alone ankle tie. If you are not an experienced escapist I would recommend using a length of chain and a spirit padlock. One final thought: those ghastly quick release chain handcuffs work on your feet if you get the kind with the wider loop. Then you can actually pass your foot through the hoop. It does depend, of course, on the shape and size of your feet but as far as these devices are convincing they are more deceptive when used around the ankles. As for your ultimate query, I believe http://www.cannonsgreatescapes.com stock a fine line and I have heard there are some available at http://www.ealib.org. |

Spirit locks and chain is a very good bit of advice.
Depending on having a more controlled envronment, bridge jumper leg irons might work also.
...think not that all wisdom is in your school. You may have studied other paths, but, it is important to remember that no matter who you are or where you come from, there is always more to learn.

I have used the Siberian Chain setup on my ankles and, yes, it is a bit awkward, but with practice it can look great. Try and see what you think.
