I saw an add for an okito box routine in the January issue of MAGIC Magazine. The add said Sinbad Max, Lost Art Magic, and Murphy's. Has anyone heard anything about this?

I often see ads in the mags and you go to the listed site, and there's nothing there.

I sent a message to Sinbad this weekend. He responded and said that it would be released soon.

Saw another full page ad for this in the May issue of MAGIC, but their site has no mention of it. It's vanished!

Full page ad in June issue. still no product. This has to be the worst product launch, ever.

There is a brand new Youtube video released. Not very unwrapping video, or am I missing something?

I have ordered this. I'll be reviewing it after I have had a chance to play around with it.

I think they should advertise better "Exactly" what you are getting. I found this thru Eric Jones on an Instagram live feed from opening day at Magi-Fest. All I can tell from the site is that you get an okito box and a dvd for $40. (yet other sites like Magic Warehouse and Magic and Such list it at only $24.95) I am certainly lost. Smile

From the trailer video, all is done with dollar size coins and a dollar size okito box. However, I would venture a "guess" that you are buying a DVD and a "half dollar size okito box"? I wont be buying anything until it is very clear what I get as well as can I get the dvd and/or download alone (as I have a half dollar okito box). If it came with a "dollar size okito" I would but it.

I noticed the dollar box vs half dollar box discrepancy too. I also saw the listing at themagicwarehouse and I'm curious. As soon as I know I'll share.

I just received mine today. I'm looking forward to watching the download for this. I don't know who made this box but it is very nice. The walls are thick which is nice for some of Roth's rim work. The lid has a low profile (which work with some of my own sleights) yet still deep enough to conceal a single coin. The box can hold five walking liberty halves, it can also except a shell. What I noticed is that with five coins you get no rattle sound at all. If that's of any concern to anyone. All in all I think the box is really nice and worth the price even if you don't use the included routines.

Mystre71, If you don't mind answering... Where did you buy it from and for how much? As I posted above, there are some very different price points out there ($40 - $25) and am curious if the lower is dvd (or download) only. Which brings up another question. Is it a dvd or a download? Thanks

I THINK and I do not know but possibly the lower price was listed wrong. I didn't know there was two different prices but I paid the $24 for mine. But I did see where the price where I got mine has been changed to $40 so perhaps they priced it wrong. Mine came in a really nice magnetic closure box with a link and password printed on a card to the download. I don't think there is a DVD with this product. I will say even if the box price is $40 the box itself is well worth that.

Best,
Joe

Hi everyone!
I have posted an unboxing of Box by Sinbad Max here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ou97owYZhL0 I open up the packaging and take a look at what's inside. I hope that this is helpful. I know what a pain it can be deciding to purchase something when you're not sure what you are getting. I have also posted the video and some written notes on www.magicianschoice.net

Once I have had a chance to really watch the video and play with the routines I'll do a full review. I can confirm that it is a standard half dollar size box, with a drawstring bag, and a URL and password to streaming video.

I got one at Blackpool and it's a great bit of kit. Eric Jones lectured a couple of the moves and I'm looking forward to watching the instructions to learn more.

Incidentally, Roy Kueppers had a stand at Blackpool too and his dollar sized Okito box looks a lot like the one used in the trailer. It has a fairly deep looking lid, but it's made so the inside is a lot shallower and will only retain one coin as a result. This is key for a couple of moves that form part of The Box routine.
