Been doing shows for children many years, but I'm branching into other types of venues and taking a hard look at my presentation. The one thing I'm interested in is pacing. I believe I am rushing, probably in order to evoke "excitement." In drama classes we did "speed run throughs" in order to bring us into a slower presentation, but in magic rehearsals this doesn't seem workable, since it is an interactive event. Can anyone give me pointers or direct me to resources specifically designed for the magician in this position? Any comments appreciated!
