Hi,
I am new to this magic forum and am beginning to learn the ropes. I started magic 10 years ago when I recieved my first magic set. I am now 14 years old and really enjoy the hobby. As I am still a student, I have to bend magic practice around school, so everyday after school, I do my homework and then rust upstairs and do loads of magic practice. I really enjoy it! I am becomming better and better and my family enjoy every show I perform. I joined this forum because it was recommended to me by someone on another magic forum. From what I have seen of this forum, it looks really good, and hope to chat and meet you all soon! Thanks! James |

G'day James
Welcome to the Café. Sounds like you are fairdinkum about the art of magic and young enough to bring heaps of youthfull enthusiasim to your performances. A couple of questions: 1. Have you become involved in a local club? 2. What areas of magic interest you most? I look forward to reading your contributions. Bob Latta (Troppo Bob) :jump: |

Hi James,
I am very glad to see a seasoned but a young master is joining us. How nice..Beginning the magic at the age of 4 and be an experienced magician at the age of 14, how early...Try to keep this acceleration. You will get a great help from the Café. All you have to do is to ask for it. Please have a cup of strong Turkish coffee on my bill, while you are typing your next post.

Hi all!
troppobob wrote: "1. Have you become involved in a local club? 2. What areas of magic interest you most?" Answers: 1) The only magic cub I have joined and still a member of is 'The young magicians club' which is the younger version for 10-18 year olds of 'The Magic Circle'. 2)I am interested in close-up magic and also some areas of stage magic. TORA wrote: "Beginning the magic at the age of 4 and be an experienced magician at the age of 14, how early...Try to keep this acceleration." As my dad is a magician, he was the one who taught me into the great art! He wanted me to become a good magician so he started me early. He taught me many of the sleights and his favourite tricks. By the age of 8, four years after I started, I was easily able to 80% of the most of the sleights with cards, coins, cigarettes(not using real cigarettes however-just handmade ones)e.c.t. To do this took alot of work and effort. As well as doing my schoolwork, this practice had to be dottd around this. However you don't have much work to do at that age. So oife continues and I am now doing my friends and family parties, which I really enjoy doing. They don't mind that I am just 14. To them I could have been 50!!! They say "No room for improvement". In other words 'I cannot get better'. Of course, that's what you would say at the end of a show but the way they said it indicated that perhaps I was very good. However, in magic you can ALWAYS get better. There has never been a magician who has done 100% exactly perfect in magic. They will have ALL made some, probably small errors. I hope you have enjoyed reading. James |
