Hey Guys –
Patrick here from Murphy’s Magic Supplies. I thought I would post what I think is one of the BEST effects for Kid Performers. This came out late 2015. This is a REAL winner! Years ago I’ve performed my share of kid’s shows and I can tell you this would have gone right into my act. http://murphysmagic.com/product.aspx?id=56508 Enjoy, P |

That character sure looks a lot like a Dr. Seuss character.

I bought this trick and was not impressed with the action on the sticks, nor the patter. It's a Dr. Seuss style rhyme but the patter says, "I do not like this trick with sticks" which goes completely against my performance concept; I always love all the tricks I show the kids otherwise why would I show it to them? And the Chinese Sticks are one of my actual favorite tricks. The sticks are nice and colorful but in my opinion they are cheaply made and the patter is a sort of "Magician in Trouble" from the get-go. I actually like the action of my black with white tips plastic Chinese Sticks better, but they are not as colorful or as big. It's a clever routine but I think it's a little short and only appropriate for very young kids like kindergarten-2nd grade.

I don't like the fact that it may be infringing on copyright and trademark. We frown heavily on magicians stealing from other magicians, yet seem to think it's okay to do so from creators and artist from outside the magic community. Not only is it a double standard, but hypocritical. Penguin Books lost a case against Dr. Seuss Enterprises for a similar reason. http://caselaw.findlaw.com/us-9th-circuit/1384979.html
