What if you have the ability to extract a person’s thought and materialize it? Imagine a spectator selects an imagination coin. No one else could possible know. However you are able to sense the energy of the thoughts and reveals the information bits by bits on a piece of paper. This is mentalism in its purest form.

Simon, and sorry if I'm misunderstanding, but if what you're implying is that I work for SansMinds because I started a thread on a new SandsMinds effect that just came to my attention, well then I respectfully deny the allegation.

Nah, not saying that, just that it looks terrible.

I'm not sure if this is the real method but ... Would't any spectator think there's a coin underneath the paper ? ...

For most spectator , once they've gotten an answer to any part of the effect , they'll think they've figured the entire magic trick already ... Haiz

What I like best about this is that it's a must have if you're looking to take the next step in performing impossible mental feats. What I like second best is that mentalism here is something you can not just feel but also see. What I like third best is that you decide if the mind reader is reading just the mind or the trace of energy and thoughts. Last but not least I love that the core ingredients that mentalism is built on are psychology, suggestion and showmanship.

I quite like the look of this and might get it. I think I know how it works but the reactions of the spectators is just off the chart so worth it I think.

Rookie mistake if you purchase an effect based off of spectator's reactions in a trailer

I am a beginner and this appeals to me because I'm still at the stage of trying lots of nesa things to find my own style.

If you're a beginner I would recommend books on what interest you. If you aren't much of a reader (which you should be Smile ) then start with fundamental DVD's for your interests. Also, look around on the Café to see what wiser and more experienced performers have to offer and say to beginners. Anyways, good luck!

As a beginner , buying single effect products will cost you a lot before you found your own style . Look around for multiple effect classics / modern productions , by different magicians , it'll probably give you a look on how different magicians perform , and you might be inspired to become one style .

I am pretty sure that a lot of people out there have done something similar to this in school as kids at one point or another. In my opinion, that makes this trick a total fail.

Thinking as magicians we might not think that that is such a big deal, but it is. It reminds me of something that Darwin Ortiz writes about in his book "Designing Miracles". He writes about how a magician might feel "fooled" even if he knows how 90% of the trick is done just because it uses some method we do not know about. For example, if a magician performs a trick for us that involves the control of a card, which most tricks does. The magician then performs a new control, which we have no idea at all how it works, but we do know that he controlled the card somehow. We then feel fooled. We see a lot of quotes for new controls like "Woha! That control fooled the hell out of me!" No it did not. What you are saying in reality is that you do not exactly know how the control works.

A lay-person does not think like that however, if they figure out 1% of the trick all chance of creating a magical moment is gone. They do not care about methods. All they need to know is that "You did something". And the chance for magic is over.

You have to remember the demographic that SansMinds is trying to reach.

Beginners that need to have the latest and greatest (yea, isn't that an oxymoron).

Not quite the same thing but it reminds me of a Richard Sanders release. I don't think it is as simple as the old 'school rubbings'.
