Hello all,
I was actually considering purchasing this close up pad as it has the wooden base I'm looking for. Anyone here use these before? Comments? Thanks.

Well, I took the plunge and purchased the 3G Standard Close-Up Pad and I must say this pad is a real beauty. It is very well made and the suede (on both sides) feels fantastic. I can see myself going through really great practice sessions on this pad. I'm really happy with this purchase and highly recommend it!

While you were posting did you happen to notice the word Attachments and upload limits before you click on the Submit button.

Some guys have a website they can just reference an image, problem with that method, is the when they change web hosts, the picture is no longer available. So the best way is with the attachment submission. The picture Brad referenced, is actually on Penguin Magic's website, when they remove the picture, it will no longer be available to view here on the Café. So the post will be meaningless to the reader in the future.

Note: Most of the time you have to edit the picture to within the upload limits given. If you don't know how to edit pictures, then you will have some problems.

I had one made and personalized. Not penguin.
Top is blood red suede. wood middle. Black leather on the reverse side.
They offered a wide variety of colors for the top. I like black leather on the bottom because less chance of staining.
It's a tough little board and fits well in one of my strolling pouches.

If the bottom is suede will it grip the table it's on or slide around? I'm looking for something like this, mostly for formal close up shows I do in homes seated at the dining table.

Most pads are made to grip the table. I don't think there's one that slides.
