Hi, I am interested in this item and I would like hearing some reviews of the trick from magicians who perform this effect such as quality of the gimmick, durability, and relation price-cost.
If you do not know about the trick you can read about it in some webs like this one: http://themagicwarehouse.com/general6.html#lb1831 Thanks. |

I would also be interested in seeing comments on this effect. I have had my eye on it. Can you do a signed card?
Thanks in advance.

I read that included with the trick comes a routine with a signed card but I guess it would be more difficult to perform because of the manipulations.

Only problem I had was to find a brand of playing
cards that fit into the unit. |

Poker cards fit into the unit?
Which model you have? I read there are some dealers who provide this item. |

I had one made by Mak Magic years ago. Very well made.
Today it sells for about $95.00! I purchased the one made in India, from "The Magic Warehouse", that's also very well made and in my opinion more deceptive in construction! And the price was only $35.00. I like it better than the Mak version! and you can't beat the price! http://www.themagicwarehouse.com Gerard |

This is one trick that works amazing with the Intercessor.

This would be very difficult to do with a signed card, because you would have to actually set the trick up after the card was signed. The Intercessor would make this easier.

This particular effect can vary from one maker to the next. Unfortunately a lot of magic is being built in India. This is sad because it does not support American manufacturers and of course capitalizes on the "slave labor" of the people of India. Sorry for the reality check but this situation is getting out of control as many items are being pirated and these guys just don't care. Add to the fact that if you ever have a problem with the effect, you’re usually out of luck.
Be wise and shop American Magic as much as possible. Ok, I will get off of my soapbox. Chance

I have owned the Owen version and it was an average quality piece which I eventually gave away. So these cheaper versions have to be below quality, but then I am rather picky. Producing a signed card with this version would be real magic!
For the ultimate TV card frame, there is only one winner and that is Collectors' Workshop Bulletproof. It's hands-off operation(with the early electronic version), jumbo deck for clear visuals, and, yes, the original signed card is actually produced between the plates. Yes, it's expensive but what a beautiful apparatus! |

I saw a demo of the trick you said and seems to be a good one version but also an expensive one
I would like hear more reviews from other magicians about what they think about the trick thanks |

I am lucky enough to own the electronic version of "Bulletproof" by Collector's Workshop and I can Honestly say it floors the guests in the audience. the instant revelation of there SIGNED card kills them every time. Well worth the money.

The TV Card Frame is what I consider a practical Card Thru Window effect. I've always loved the effect. When I used to perform corporate office parties this was used to close the set. It always played well and I've always had fun with it.
During one show, as I was about to force the card on an audience member, a horrible feeling came over me. I forgot to load the dupe card into the unit. With heart beating fast I realized there was only one way out...deep prayer! My assistant was given a totally free selection and her signature written across the face of the card. The card was apparantly lost in the deck. As I approached the card frame, my heart raced rapidly. I picked up the frame by its base and removed the plexi sheets. These were given to an audience member who was instructed to remove the mini picture of Houdini, King of Cards; the inspriation for my card magic and excuse for having a 'picture frame' on my table. It was somewhere between the misdirection of taking the plexi back and setting the frame back on the table that I was able to load the signed card unnoticed the group of 50. An internal sigh of relief! At the finish of the effect, the reactions were quite astounding. Sometimes, the mistakes we make lead to a greater success. Bill said, "This would be very difficult to do with a signed card, because you would have to actually set the trick up after the card was signed. The Intercessor would make this easier." He is right! About 7 years ago, we asked one of our wood builders to to redesign the internal mechanism and give the frame a more classy and natural look. We call it Thee Card Frame. Though not inexpensive, it is quality through and through. http://www.thetrickery.com/Detail.bok?no=4094 |

I own the El Duco electronic version with the Card Pistol. You tear off the corner of the selected card, load the card into the barrel of the pistol with it protruding out the end. Fire the pistol, the card vanishes and instantly(and I mean instantly) reappears across the stage in the plexiglass, and ofcoarse the ripped off corner of the card matches!
Awesome reactions! I love it. Its great too because it is such a small peice and plays big. Plus with the use of the gun can make this a hilarious routine wiht the right patter.

Howard,
I can hardly say that your price is expensive! I think it looks very well designed and the price is VERY FAIR. I think if you manufacture quality props then it is best to ignore the status quo price from the mass manufactures and focus on the customer base than can appreciate the quality and reliability....heck, it's working great for us Good luck with the card Frame!
